Dawg, I got an e-mail from a student at FSU (Florida State University) jokingly asking if they're attending the University of Goop.
They received an e-mail from a student (who has surely had their e-mail compromised) telling them they need to review the Universities conduct policy, or something, and they must install "Zoho Assist"
Zoho Assist is a legitimate tool for remotely assisting people. But, some dorky ass Threat Actor is sending out these goofy social engineering e-mails hoping a student will install Zoho on their devices
My question for the Threat Actor: what if the student isn't running Windows? Many students use Apple products, or are running the infamous LINUX OPERATING SYSTEM, so what is your plan then?
Secondly, what's the plan then? Remotely access some broke ass college kids device and steal their $13 from their bank account?
I don't get it

‼️ BREAKING: Revolut's app and cards have stopped working across Europe.
Google Cloud's London region is affected by network failures. Revolut, and many other services, runs on Google Cloud.
Revolut says money and data are safe but has not named a cause.
What about all the incredible H1-B talent? How could this possibly happen?
If you bank with @USAA, don't be surprised if your accounts are empty or inaccessible right now. Apparently they're experiencing some kind of catastrophic IT meltdown. Never seen anything like this in the 35 years I've been a member

🚨 FBI ARRESTS CANADIAN RANSOMWARE NEGOTIATOR IN SHINYHUNTERS INVESTIGATION — NEW ALLEGATIONS EMERGE
A Canadian cybersecurity executive whose career involved helping ransomware victims negotiate with cybercriminals has been arrested on federal extortion-related charges.
Edward “Ed” Dubrovsky, 54, was arrested in Pennsylvania on October 8, 2026, as the FBI intensified its investigation into ShinyHunters.
Here’s what we know:
Dubrovsky worked in ransomware negotiation and cyber-extortion response.
Federal court records identify allegations involving conspiracy to extort money through threats to disclose information and interference with commerce through extortion.
FBI Director Kash Patel announced the arrest of another suspected ShinyHunters co-conspirator on October 9.
Multiple news organizations identified Dubrovsky as the person arrested, citing sources familiar with the investigation.
The underlying charging documents remain partly sealed.
🔴 NEW DEVELOPMENT — OCTOBER 19
KrebsOnSecurity reports that federal investigators are examining alleged relationships between ShinyHunters and executives working in ransomware negotiation.
According to sources cited in the investigation:
Some negotiators allegedly knew about ShinyHunters victims before those organizations were aware of the breaches.
Investigators reportedly examined Signal communications involving suspected ShinyHunters associates and ransomware negotiators.
Sources alleged Dubrovsky had prior knowledge of sensitive FBI data being stolen.
Investigators reportedly suspect an executive at a separate U.S. consulting firm helped operate a ShinyHunters victim-extortion website.
These allegations have not been proven in court.
⚠️ DDW Analyst Note:
This investigation raises a disturbing question for the ransomware-response industry:
What happens when the people hired to negotiate with cybercriminals allegedly develop relationships that go beyond legitimate incident response?
Ransomware negotiators routinely handle highly confidential information, sensitive communications and potentially millions of dollars in payment negotiations.
Trust and independence are fundamental to that role.
Dubrovsky is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. The precise allegations and evidence against him have not been fully disclosed publicly.

Stepped out of work for a quick walk this morning and got snap, crackle, pop right over my head when the electrical box and wires above me caught fire. Watching the process unfold was a bit entertaining. Everyone nearby emptied their fire extinguishers into it, which did nothing. The fire truck arrived in about ten minutes, not a bad response time for Sihanoukville, but hooking up the hose and getting proper pressure was a struggle. Plus, I think they need a new hose, because it had a massive leak! They did eventually put it out, and nobody got hurt, which is good!

There is only one answer to cybersecurity threats: Fix your shit.
Scared of threat actors using AI? Worried about rogue agents? Think abliterated models are spooky? Fix. Your. Shit.
The "ban AI models and regulate GPU access" crowd should instead fix their shit.

I got my teeth 3d scanned at the dentist, I asked the lady if she could send me the 3D file. She looked at me like I had kicked a puppy and said “I’ve never heard of anyone asking for that…” like lady, it’s MY mouth. I want to 3d print my mouth as a gift to my friends. Not weird

The context behind such tweets is that the AI companies are rejecting 40 years of cybersecurity knowledge. They are ignorant of cybersecurity and are trying to re-invent it from scratch, repeating the mistakes of bad people from 40 years ago.
