Student-led group For Our Futures will rally Monday morning to call for repeal of the 1958 Onion Futures Act
On Monday, October 19, at 8:30 a.m., members of For Our Futures, a student-led organization from @UChicago, will gather outside the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (@CMEGroup) headquarters to demand the repeal of the Onion Futures Act of 1958, a nearly 70-year-old federal law prohibiting futures trading in onions.
The Onion Futures Act, enacted following allegations of market manipulation in the 1950s, singled out onions for a prohibition on futures contracts that remains in effect today. For Our Futures is calling on Congress to repeal the ban and restore the ability of onion growers, buyers, and traders to participate in a regulated futures market. Onions remain the only commodity banned from futures trading in the United States.
The protest will feature a giant inflatable onion costume, protest signs, and dozens of students, and will take place outside the headquarters of CME Group, one of the world's largest derivatives marketplaces and the historic center of American onion futures trading.

Bardzo dziwny ten wyrok na zdjęciu. Wygląda trochę jakby Sądowi pomieszał się Art. 94 i Art. 97 kw. Ludzie w komentarzach nie rozumieją, że nie ma absolutnie żadnych podstaw do wymierzenia takiej kary za postój na chodniku.
Utrata prawa jazdy za parkowanie na chodniku? Tak, w Polsce to możliwe. Sędziowie kłócą się o to, który jest neo, a który paleo, nikt nie dyskutuje o tych mniej bystrych. W załączeniu przykład. Odwozicie dzieciaka do przedszkola, śpieszycie się do roboty, więc parkujecie na chodniku, by na szybko wyrzucić malucha. Albo jesteście kurierem. I kilka miesięcy później przy kontroli drogowej policjant informuje Was, że macie zakaz prowadzenia pojazdów. WTF? Żadnych punktów karnych, po pijaku nie jeździliście, jakim cudem? A wystarczyło, że straż miejska zrobiła wam fotkę auta na chodniku, wysłała mandat na zły adres, a sąd w trybie nakazowym orzekł 500 zł kary, z czym się liczyliście, ale dołożył od siebie extra zakaz prowadzenia auta na pół roku. Prawdopodobnie wklejając Ctrl C Ctrl V sentencję z innego wyroku, ale kto to sprawdzi? Wyrok poszedł na zły adres, nie odebraliście go, nie odwołaliście się i po 2 tygodniach był prawomocny. I przez takiego gostka w todze jesteście nie dość, że piesi i bezrobotni, to dojdzie wam jeszcze kolejny wyrok za jazdę bez prawa jazdy 😂Odkręcić się to pewnie da, ale zajmie lata...
