I'm finding the ChatGPT / Codex distinction poorly legible and unwieldy in-app. For instance, I might be working in Codex on a local project and want to ask ChatGPT something unrelated (in the cloud). What I find myself doing is switching from Codex to ChatGPT, which preserves my running Codex conversation - convenient but confusing; then, start my conversation.
What are some habits that work well with the Codex Desktop app? I've been living in the terminal for a long time (herdr) and I want to test drive something new. So far so good but I'm getting context anxiety not seeing the auto-compaction run like it does in the Codex CLI (or I'm missing it). What's the consensus on long threads? Any other best practices I should know about?

Hitting limits much faster now on the Plus plan with Codex CLI. Not sure if it matters but mostly using GPT-5-codex medium (for implementation) and GPT-5 high (for planning).

First impressions of the iPhone Air: it's really nice to hold. I'm replacing a 13PM and the difference is stark. Last night I could hardly put it down, even if I wasn't interacting with it.
I'm not ready to return it yet, and my bet is that I'll keep it until next generation. I know I'll miss the telephoto and wide angle but my wife has a 16PM and we're rarely apart; besides, she's been taking the bulk of our photos over the last few years.

Resorting more and more to letting the TV distract the kids while I work in the morning. There are restrictions: calm, quiet, no action; but I can't help but feel like I'm making some sort of Faustian bargain.
