The Illini have remade almost their whole men's basketball roster this off-season. Who better to break it down than @KedPrince4, who's joining us LIVE on tonight's show, 7:00 p.m. on QCSportsNet.com, with @ness_44 teaming up with co-hosts @JoeTheShowQCSN and @jaydub61!!
If you’re not going to use the righthanders you have in the pen, go out and get righthanders you WILL use.

The last #STLCards player 22 or younger to have a longer hitting streak than Masyn Winn’s 17 games?
Stan Musial (1943)
Question @katiejwoo … Gray pitched Monday. But even with 5 days rest, he’s not pitching Saturday. Is that a coaching decision or by Sonny’s request? It makes no sense to not go with your best as often as you can with regular rest.
Guaranteed to lose the third game of a series after winning the first two. #TheCardinalWay
Sit your best hitter and your best power, and don’t start Gray when he is on normal rest. Just to make sure you don’t sweep.
Naw, the Cardinals don’t need a fifth starter. Everything is fine. Be patient. They’re the Cardinals. Smartest organization in sports. And they know more than we do. They’re absolutely determined to do whatever it takes to win. #Sarcasm

On September 10, 1960 Mickey Mantle rockets a homerun that measured 643ft.
Guinness Records as it as the longest ball ever hit in a major league game.
This is where the ball supposedly landed.

Here’s a thought - Hit a home run more often than every other game on an average. Isn’t anyone curious in the organization why there is zero power in that offense????
Oli Marmol on Miles Mikolas in today's #STLCards loss: "Overall, he did a nice job — he really did. Just not enough offense. Had our shots, just didn't cash in. We've got to figure out a way to score some runs."

In 2023 the Cardinals were 9-13 after 22 games with a run differential of minus 2. Their offense was averaging 4.72 runs per game.
This season: 9-13 after 22 games with a run differential of minus 19. Their offense is averaging 3.45 runs per game.
Blame the manager? The hitting coach? Ownership? The players themselves (who continue to bat in the same fruitless spots in the order, and striking out and without HRs in record fashion)? Frustration at a peak.
Replying to @ness_44
I don’t see any quick fixes either. I thought starting pitching would be a bigger problem than offense but starting pitching has been pretty good.
And 9 strikeouts in the first innings of the last 3 games, and 10 out of 12 in all 4, with one of the other two outs being a foul out :/
Understandably, there is a lot of angst today over the #STLCards thinned bullpen and starters not going deeper yet. But this is where the concern should be after four games:
The top of the order (Donovan, Goldschmidt, Gorman, Arenado & Contreras) are 12 of 73 (.164) with 26 Ks.
First innings of Cardinals’ first 4 games -
G1 - Flyout to CF, K, foul out
G2 - K, K, K
G3 - K, K, K
G4 - K, K, K

I’m going to go out on a limb and say the #11 is for the II that comes at the end of your name. And now I have to have that jersey. #NewFavoriteCardinal #GoIIGo
