ya'll remember rdr2 ?
"...i shall not rest quiet in montparnasse
i shall not lie easy at winchelsea
you may bury my body in sussex grass,
you may bury my tongue at champmédy
i shall not be there. i shall rise and pass
bury my heart at wounded knee..."
when my college asks me for donations
i tell them i learned in college that there are growth stocks that reinvest in themselves & stabilized value stocks that pay dividends
i'm young & my family / career is still growing
so based on what they taught me i shouldn't donate
huge misunderstanding tonight
i thought we were talking about starfield, the video game
our 2.5 yr old thought we were talking about garfield, the cat that eats lasagna
we’re on the same page now
i interned at the megafund when i was 8 yrs old ,.
my small hands could fix printer ink cartridge issues easier
look i enjoy NFL as much as the next guy
but only ~8% of the game is people actually playing
& ~33% of the non-playing time is brainrot commercials w/ megan fox selling ED pills, LIBERTY LIBERTY LIBERTYYYY or retarded gambling ads
all sizzle not that much steak
confession -- worked in MF infra / project finance for like a decade & still don't really know what "tax equity" is ...,
update: my dad -- the semi-homeless, grigori perelman-styled phd -- survived the FL hurricane
he has that sort of old-world stubborn grittiness, he is hard to take down
my dad is roaming florida right under this hurricane
he’s had a long, complicated relationship w/ God
this is his lieutenant dan moment
we were down by 25 at halftime
our hs coach was pissed, he ripped into us
during his tirade, i looked at my semi-autistic friend on the team
he’d twisted all the dark hair on his legs into these bushy caterpillar shapes & was staring right at me, daring me to laugh
cool to see them chatting after their game
if you're looking for chess role models, don't need to go much further than fabi & levon !
1st day of pre-school for our oldest
you see them walking in w/ their little backpack & lunchbox
you hope they make some friends & like their new little world & never look back
but hard to let them go
having been through the core values creation / iteration process at a few companies now
at this point, i'd probably just advocate for a pretty simple approach:
core values = 1) trust & 2) performance. that's it. those are our values
