🚨 U.S. CORPORATE BANKRUPTCIES ARE ABOUT TO SURGE.
Yields on America's riskiest corporate bonds have jumped to 18.17%, up from just 12.03% a year ago.
These are CCC-rated bonds, issued by companies already at high risk of default.
And the situation could get much worse.
• The yield gap over U.S. Treasuries has widened to 13.4%, its highest since July 2020.
• Companies that borrowed at low rates now face much higher costs when refinancing their debt.
• Investors are demanding nearly 18% yields to hold these risky bonds.
If companies cannot refinance their debt, bankruptcies, layoffs, and financial losses could increase sharply.
