WARREN BUFFETT STEPS DOWN AFTER 56 YEARS, LEAVING BEHIND A WARNING ON CURRENCY DEBASEMENT “Father Time always wins.” Warren Buffett has stepped down as chairman of Berkshire Hathaway, ending a 56-year run at the helm of the company. The 96-year-old will remain on the board as chairman emeritus, with his son Howard Buffett taking over as chairman. In one of Buffett’s final years running Berkshire, he warned that the biggest long-term threat investors face is something they cannot escape, currency debasement. “The tendency of a government to want to debase its currency over time… there’s no system that beats that.” “The natural course of government is to make the currency worthless over time.”

One guy in Sweden built a search engine that doesn't run on Google or Bing. It's been online since 2021, and the bills come to about $200 a month. Viktor Löfgren says most "alternative" search engines are really powered by Google or Bing, or by authoritarian states like Russia and China. His engine, Marginalia, has its own crawler and index, with no ads, no loans and no investors. His argument: when nearly all search runs through a few US companies, censorship becomes easy, even by accident, and one country's cultural bias shapes what everyone finds. He isn't trying to replace Google. He wants Marginalia to be the "minority report" that keeps the big engines honest. So it ranks what they tend to bury: personal blogs, old university pages, text-heavy sites with nothing to sell. Every result shows whether a page uses affiliate links or JavaScript, and you can filter those out. An "explore" mode just shows you random sites from the index. It's keyword-based on purpose. Löfgren argues that the better a search engine gets at answering questions, the worse it gets at finding websites. It's open source under the AGPL, so you can host your own copy. marginalia-search.com/

‼️ BREAKING: The threat actors who targeted Revolut with information-demand emails are now posting sensitive customer data, including that of high-profile clients such as tennis player Shevchenko and Römer, CEO of Gamdom/Skinscom. They want Revolut to pay up. They say they'll release more messages, data and insights into how the Revolut team operates. They're accusing Revolut of handing over sensitive information to countries outside its jurisdiction. They accuse the company of negligence around privacy and the exposure of sensitive information.

this is why KYC is fucked up.. first you had a tax agent in France selling data to criminals and now Revolut falls for the oldest scam in history...
⚠️ ALERT: Revolut falls for a FAKE government request, exposing sensitive personal information of customers in a disturbing data breach. Revolut disclosed that it complied with a fraudulent government request using a spoofed official email and valid credentials, exposing PII belonging to a group of customers. The leaked data reportedly includes passports/driving licences, verification selfies, names, DOBs, occupations, home addresses, emails, phone numbers, IBANs, account statements and full transaction histories, including Bitcoin activity. No customer funds were reportedly lost and Revolut says its systems were not hacked. The company has notified affected users and regulators and blocked the source. Social-engineering attacks are on the rise, with attackers increasingly exploiting human trust and weak verification processes rather than technical vulnerabilities.

🤣 Was macht deren IT eigentlich beruflich?

I can't believe more people aren't deploying AI agents on Robinhood. It literally takes <5 minutes to set up, and it's like having a 24/7 trading desk in your pocket. If you trade crypto/stocks, save this. 🧵: Full setup guide (how to deploy agents on Robinhood).👇

Cronos rewound its blockchain today after the Tectonic exploit. This is not something that “just happens” in crypto. DefiLlama tracks more than 550 chains, while broader chain registries list well over 1,500 mainnets. Against that backdrop, deliberate rewinds of already accepted blockchain history are exceptionally rare. I can document only a small number of clear cases where developers or validators deliberately rolled a network back, restarted it from an earlier state or otherwise discarded previously accepted history. - Bitcoin did it in 2010 after the value-overflow bug created 184 billion BTC. Patched miners rejected the bad chain and the exploit transaction disappeared from canonical history. - SmartCash did it in 2018 after an exploit created illegitimate coins. The network rolled back to an earlier block, cancelling transactions and mined blocks that had already happened. - PluraCoin also performed an emergency rollback in 2018 after a major chain incident. - Haven Protocol did it in 2021 after exploits caused unknown inflation. The community voted overwhelmingly to roll the chain back to block 886,575. - MOL carried out a rollback in 2025 following an incident that created discrepancies between exchange balances and the rewritten onchain state. - Paradex did it in January 2026 after a pricing failure triggered mass liquidations. The chain was restored to an earlier block and affected account states were reverted. - Harmony did it only days ago in August 2026 after an exploit forged trillions of ONE. Validators rolled back both shards to pre-attack checkpoints, discarding more than 141,000 blocks and over 109,000 normal transactions. And now Cronos. By the way... Ethereum’s 2016 DAO intervention is often described as a rollback as well, although technically it was different. The hard fork introduced a special state transition that moved the DAO funds, while Ethereum Classic continued the original history.

Rothschild family owned magazine The Economist published this cover image in its January 2026 edition If you look carefully at first image, they have shown a melting glacier at bottom left If you place this image on a clock, melting glacier aligns exactly with the end of August
Thread Something very strange is emerging from the coverage of recent Nepal floods. One symbol keeps appearing again and again Missing people. Victims. Headlines. Even a birthday. Coincidence? Maybe. But the deeper you look, the stranger it gets. 🧵 1/16

EU residents are running out of time 🇪🇺 From January 1st, 2027, you won't be able to open foreign bank accounts anymore. The cage is closing Luckily, you still have a few months to open your Bank of Georgia accounts remotely 🇬🇪 These accounts are FANTASTIC. Solid banking, great cards, 10% of annual returns on your deposits... and perhaps best of all, Georgia is NOT in the EU But here's the catch: this window closes soon. From January on, you won't be able to do this anymore, unless you move out of the EU (Which I do recommend, anyway) If you want one, you need to do it NOW Not in December or "when you get around to it" The clock is ticking

It took me longer to understand the dollar than Bitcoin. We wanted you to understand Bitcoin so you could hold it in self-custody. The FIC never wanted you to understand the dollar so you would keep it in their custody. Your dollars in the bank are their liability. Cash is the dollar in self-custody. Now watch how hard they work to get rid of cash and replace it with stablecoins & CBDCs.

#Privacy #Surveillance #UE
