ALT A picture of me with my advisors and committee members. After I was told that my defense had been successful, the question arose of how we could quickly take a formal (non-selfie) picture of my committee and me. I quickly walked to the hallway to see if there was anyone around who could take the picture, and stumbled upon a guy walking back from his lunch break, lunchbox in hand. Me (still in shock): "Hey, uh, I just successfully, uh, defended my dissertation...can you take a picture of me with my committee?" Him (with furrowed brow): "Hmm...yes, yes I do think I can." And then after a pause, with him deep in thought, he sprinted off into the distance. Me: "Wait, where are you going?! Could you take the picture?" Him: "Don't worry! This is my job! I'm getting my professional camera!" Thank you to JP Popham, a professional photographer for GT's College of Computing, who I happened to bump into. You certainly had more energy (and a better quality camera) than I did in that moment.
