DEI kills another legendary studio. Veilguard was the last nail. Then again, studio was probably a meat zombie of its former self after the acquisition. Hopefully Mass Effect gets picked up as IP by someone worthy.
Fantastic design from Porsche and a palate cleanser after all the brutalist releases. Also, the comments are a great browse if you're having a bad day. 😅

This is hilarious and awesome.
Awesome because this has annoyed millions of peoples for years.
Hilarious because WHY DOES IT TAKE 5 SECONDS TO SHOW A MENU OF GAMES?!
Steam takes 10 SECONDS?!
Do you realize how much time that is for a CPU with a modern internet connection? Am I crazy!? What am I missing?

On point, as always.
As a result of Trump's energy ceasefire, Russia has promised to export 300k metric tons of diesel this month, 500k next month and up to 1 million in December.
Global monthly diesel demand is 115 million tons. We're talking about less than 1% of global diesel demand and that's assuming Russia can and wants to deliver on its promises which is highly doubtful on both ability and intent grounds.
On the other hand, 5.4 million tons a month is estimated to have been lost for the last many months due to the drastic reduction of oil and diesel shipments via the Straight of Hormuz.
The "energy ceasefire" is not about diesel, it's about redirecting the rage at the cost of the Iran war at someone other than the people who are responsible for it for electoral purposes.
The faster this band aid is ripped off the sooner we can reap the benefits of better games and software. Epic being a private business is showing balls, I like.

Some still understand sexual tension in automotive design. The brutalist designs dominating other manufacturers is analogous with Stalinist architecture that surfaced as the rejection of traditional architecture and values in the Soviet Union.
In the agent era the customers make better software than the service provider. Epic.

I sat my 7-year-old down and explained to him that dying industries (legacy media, academia, DNC politics) ride algorithmically driven cultural hysterias both because it’s the only way they can stay relevant and because their business models demand it.
He looked up at me and with a tear in his eyes asked, ‘so, for the sake of the journos, the assistant professors, and Dem Politics Inc, we’re obligated to attest to the moral urgency of the hysteria and act completely emotionally dysregulated?’
‘Yes,’ I answered him. ‘Yes, that’s right.’
And then we both sat quietly.

The reason that it has become easy to mistake an LLM for an average person is that the average person is an LLM, and always has been.

There is a cohort of people who love play "Chicken Little". They are typically associated with the left, and their goal is the acquisition of power.
They screamed "No Nukes" when nuclear power was the safest form of power generation ever created. They managed to delay the use of Nuclear power for decades. Now, of course, we really need it.
They screamed "Climate, Climate, Climate" and manage to increase the price of fossil fuels. They seemed oblivious to the fact that those Nukes they blocked would have prevented a lot of CO2 from being dumped into the air.
Now they are screaming "AI will kill us all". And they are having the same effect. They will impede the progress on the one thing that could help us solve all those other problems.
Why? Because they want the power that breeding fear in others gives them.
Should we be cautious with Nukes? Sure. Should we be cautious with the climate? Sure. Should we be cautious with AI? Sure.
But we should not let fear dominate us -- that fear will be our undoing.

SECRETARY RUBIO on AMERICA.GOV PASSPORTS: No printing forms, no drugstore hostage photo, no appointment, no line, no middleman that you're paying to do something that should be available to you.
Claude talking to Higgsfield directly with an established brand guide is next level magic. Asset production that would take a team weeks with a single prompt. 🤯
Bring back insane asylums, workhouses, and vagrancy laws. There's nothing kind or compassionate about letting mentally-ill drug addicts roam the streets like 28 Days Later. And it makes for a terrible city experience for everyone else too.
