#sapsLIM [ACTING NATIONAL COMMISSIONER ANNOUNCES NEW PROVINCIAL COMMISSIONER FOR SAPS IN LIMPOPO] The Acting National Commissioner, Lt Gen Puleng Dimpane, has officially announced the appointment of the new Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Jan Scheepers.
She was joined by the Limpopo Premier, Dr Phophi Ramathuba and the MEC for Transport and Community Safety, Ms Violet Mathye, the Director General from Office of the Premier, Mr Nape Nchabeleng, the HoD for Transport and Community Safety, Mr Steve Matjena, the Deputy National Commissioner for Policing, Lieutenant General Mosikili and SAPS Provincial Management ranging from Deputy Provincial Commissioners, District Commissioners and Brigadiers.
The appointment ceremony took place at the Premier's Office in Polokwane.
The appointment follows the retirement of Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe in June 2026 and forms part of SAPS' ongoing organisational renewal programme aimed at strengthening leadership, enhancing service delivery, and advancing the #SAPSResetAgenda through professional, ethical, accountable, and effective policing. A couple from Dovheni Village in Limpopo has turned rejected avocados into an award-winning business.
Husband-and-wife team Hulisani Mabugana and Hulisani Mudau, founders of Ecovado, have been named the winners of the Seeds of Change 2026 Enterprise Development Programme.
Instead of letting lower-grade avocados go to waste because they don't meet fresh-market standards, the couple transforms them into premium avocado oil and other value-added products, creating income, reducing food waste, and adding value to local agriculture

Limpopo is emerging as one of South Africa’s fastest-growing provinces, driven by a young population, strong political will, and major investment projects. The province recorded the biggest drop in unemployment nationally from 35% to 29.8% boosted by growth in construction, trade, and services.
Following over R170 billion in pledges at the Limpopo Investment Conference, the province is advancing major projects, including the Musina-Makhado and Fetakgomo-Tubatse SEZs.

He was larger than life because he led such a big life and touched the lives of many people.
He fraternised with heads of states and government such as Presidents and Prime Ministers.
He was on first name terms with central bankers around the world.
He was respected by leading economists, titans of business, labour leaders and ordinary people in our country.
Yet despite his stature and profile, he never lost the common touch. He had a gift to connect to people. He understood them and he had a way to make people feel special and made them have a sense that they mattered.

Tito taught us that public service is noble and necessary; that one can serve with integrity and hold true to the important values, like faith and family.
He strongly believed that it was important to give back to the community and country in which one lived. He recognized that serving others enriched the servant’s soul.
To me he was the shining star that shined brightest in a maze of a dark period in the life of our country we called state capture.
