I have lots of thoughts to share with you all regarding my umrah trip, and my time at Makkah and Madinah. I want to start by saying the primary goal should be worship, to maximise the use of your time praying in the masjid al Haram, or masjid al Nabawi. Not shopping or food.

One prayer in the masjid al Haram is worth the reward of 100,000 anywhere else, except masjid al Nabawi where one prayer is worth 1000. You will never get this opportunity anywhere else so do not miss a single congregational prayer.

Of course, in between prayers and in your downtime, definitely have a look around for any spots. I opted to stay in the masjid from asr to esha but you can have a wander in the nearby clocktower or several shops and malls nearby.
