Kevin Garnett says after a loss to the Lakers early in the season Doc Rivers once demanded $100 from every player, coach, and staff member on the Boston Celtics, and says Rivers then climbed onto a chair and hid the money above the ceiling tiles in the Lakers’ visiting locker room, and told his team they would only get their money back if they got back there for the NBA finals
“It was ’09–’10. We went into ’08, we go home, Conference Finals. ’09, the Lakers win it, and then we match up with the Lakers in ’10. But when we started off the year, we didn’t start off with the greatest start. We play the Lakers in L.A., and Doc comes in and says, ‘I want everybody to give me a hundred dollars.’”
“Why? I’m looking around at people like, ‘Goddamn it.’ I pull out a hundred dollars. Everybody’s pulling out money. Johnny Joe, who’s the equipment manager, goes around, and he’s grabbing all of it.”
“As he’s grabbing it, you see that it’s starting to accumulate. It’s like maybe 30 people in this room, with coaches and players. You got 15 players, then you got seven, eight coaches, then you got your video guys, everybody around, trainers. So all together, it’s like 30 people, and he gets a hundred dollars from every person in here.”
“Long story short, he gets it, and we see it. So he takes a chair, takes the ceiling and removes the ceiling. I’m like, we’re all looking at this before a game, by the way, too. ‘Doc, what are you doing?’”
“He puts the money up there, and then he puts the ceiling back. Comes down, gets out of the chair, and says, ‘We’re coming back to get that money.’ He says, ‘We’re coming back to get that money.’ I said, ‘Hold on.’ Like, we’re in L.A., right? We’re in the Staples Center. I’m like, ‘What?’ So I was thinking, ‘Man, I need to start pushing this ceiling back and seeing what’s up here. He’s putting money up here thinking that it’s going to be here.’”
“So I was up on him, like, ‘Man, stop tripping.’ And he was like, ‘If you don’t believe, get out. Because we’re coming back here. We’re going to be back here, and we’re going to beat this team for the championship. We’re going to get our second ring in here.’”

Metallica Frontman James Hetfield just called out artists who turn their concerts into political rallies: “Metallica is not here, like some other entertainers, to influence you with their BULLSH*T.”
It’s great to hear a musician say this instead of betraying their own fans and attacking them from the stage.

Steven Tyler opens up to Joe Rogan about sobriety, addiction, and why he can never touch drugs again.
"If I do, I’ll end up doing too much. I can’t control it. It’s just the way I am."
"When I get that way, my kids don’t talk to me, I get a divorce, I’m thrown out of my own band, I lose everything."
"I got a lot of beautiful friends to keep me in line... I got two sponsors, one on the West Coast, one on the East Coast that I call up all the time when I want to get fucked up."
"When you get sober, if you don’t continue your aftercare by going to a couple meetings every now and then, you’re going to wind up using again."
"For me to finally realize, you know what, it's not worth it."

Aerosmith is coming out of retirement for two shows at the Hollywood Bowl! 🤘🏻
Aerosmith announced their return to the stage with “California, Dream On: Aerosmith & Friends,” two shows scheduled for October 29 and November 1 at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles.
These will be their first full-length performances since 2023, when Steven Tyler fractured his larynx during a show in New York, forcing the cancellation of the “Peace Out: The Farewell Tour.”
In August 2024, the band had confirmed its permanent retirement from the stage, stating that Tyler’s vocal recovery was not possible. But the singer continued to perform on occasional appearances, including Black Sabbath’s farewell show in July 2025, until he felt comfortable enough to return.
The two shows will feature a star-studded lineup: The Black Crowes, Run-D.M.C., Heart, Billy Idol, Slash, Sammy Hagar, Tom Morello, Duff McKagan, and Eric Church, among others, joining Tyler, Joe Perry, Tom Hamilton, and Brad Whitford for what promises to be a historic night for the band’s fans.

🚨🚨🚨 𝗠𝗔𝗝𝗢𝗥 𝗕𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗚: Cristiano Ronaldo has LEFT the Portugal camp following Jorge Jesus’ press conference!
‘After everything I gave this shirt, I will not stay where respect is optional.
This is the end of my journey with the Portuguese national team.
To the Portuguese people,
I have worn this jersey since I was a boy. I carried it through nights of glory and nights of pain. I scored for it, I fought for it, I cried for it. I never asked to be treated like a king. I asked only to be treated like a man who has given his life to Portugal.
That respect did not come.
Before the match against Norway, I was told I would not start, but that I would enter the game. I accepted it. I warmed up. I stayed ready. Then the minutes passed, the substitutions came, and my name was never called. After the final whistle, I walked down the tunnel alone. Not because I do not love my teammates. Because I understood, in that moment, what my place had become.
A promise broken is not a tactical decision. It is a message. And I heard it clearly.
I have always said the same thing: the day they no longer count on me, I will be the first to leave. I will not create an atmosphere. I will not sit on the bench as decoration. I will not pretend that silence is professionalism when it is only humiliation dressed as strategy.
To Jorge Jesus: you are the coach. The team is yours. I do not question your right to choose. I question the way a captain of this country was handled after two decades of service. Authority without respect is not leadership. It is just power.
To my teammates: keep going. Win. Be better than we were. This generation has talent I never had at their age. Use it. Do not waste it on politics.
To the fans: you were never the problem. You sang my name when I was 18 and you sang it when I was 41. I will always be one of you. I will always be the first supporter of this national team. That does not change because a coach decided I no longer belonged on the pitch.
I leave with a clear conscience. I leave with 146 goals, with records, with scars, and with love. I do not leave because I cannot play. I leave because I refuse to stay where I am no longer wanted in the only way that matters: on the field, with dignity.’
Thank you, Portugal.
This chapter is closed.
Cristiano Ronaldo.
