Some friendships are built across boardrooms. The best ones are built across fairways. ⛳ Every December, something special happens at Ikoyi. It’s about the laughter on the 9th hole, the stories shared over the clubhouse, and the partnerships that quietly begin when people spend a morning walking side by side. Hear from some of the voices we spoke to at the NBCC Nigeria–UK Education Fair 2026. We asked educators and school leaders about the fair, and about what their students took home from it. Each answer was different, but they shared one theme: a student who walked in with questions and left with a clearer path. That is what building global pathways means to us. Thank you to everyone who took the time to speak with us, and to the schools who brought their students along. TVC showed up, and they stayed. On Thursday morning, a TVC crew walked into NBCC Plaza with their cameras ready. Nobody had to persuade them, because they came for the story. 🎓 They found a hall full of students holding notebooks of questions. They found parents asking about scholarships, school leaders swapping contacts and UK institutions meeting the families they had hoped to reach. They stayed and listened, and they carried our message beyond the room. That is what the NBCC Nigeria–UK Education Fair 2026 is about: making sure a young person at home knows that a path to quality education exists, and that it is closer than they think. Thank you, @tvcnewsng , for believing this story was worth telling. These engagements matter because business growth rarely happens in isolation. A conversation between two companies can develop into a strategic partnership. A meeting between businesses and policymakers can bring industry concerns into important discussions. An introduction to the right contact can help a company explore a market it has long hoped to enter. And stronger commercial relationships can create opportunities for suppliers, employees and the communities around them. By encouraging collaboration across the Nigeria–UK corridor, NBCC helps create an environment where businesses can build connections, explore cross-border opportunities and contribute to broader economic development. Our work is about more than bringing businesses into the same room. It is about making those encounters meaningful—encouraging dialogue that leads to action, relationships that support growth and partnerships that create value beyond the organisations involved. As we begin another week, let us remember that the impact of commerce is measured not only in goods exchanged or deals concluded, but also in the opportunities created, livelihoods supported and communities strengthened. At NBCC, we believe that when businesses thrive through meaningful partnerships, the benefits can travel much further. Here’s to building connections that move business forward and create value that reaches beyond borders. Happy New Week from NBCC — connecting businesses, strengthening partnerships and advancing Nigeria–UK commerce. #HappyNewWeek #NBCC #NigeriaUK #TradeAndInvestment #BusinessPartnerships

Great events are built on great partnerships. 🤝 When we first imagined the NBCC Nigeria–UK Education Fair 2026, we pictured a room full of students and families finding answers, and a place where UK institutions and Nigerian schools could meet. On Thursday, that picture came to life. 🎓 None of it would have been possible without the partners who believed in the vision from the start. Our heartfelt thanks to: @CharterhouseSch Lagos @HenleyPartners @FirstBankngr @GSLNigeria School and Bethany Schools UK Supported by British Council And to the @ngBritish , our supporting partner, for standing with us throughout. 🇳🇬🇬🇧 Your support helped open doors for students, parents and school leaders. Because of you, a young person left with a clearer path, and a school left with a new partnership. Thank you for investing in the next generation of Nigerian talent. 🌍 Building Global Pathways: Connecting Nigerian Talent with UK Educational Excellence. #NBCC #NigeriaUKEducationFair #EducationFair2026 #ThankYouSponsors #BuildingGlobalPathways #BritishCouncil #Charterhouse #FirstBank

At the NBCC Nigeria- UK Education Fair 2026, themed “Building Global Pathways: Connecting Nigerian Talent with UK Educational Excellence,” conversations went beyond the classroom to explore how education can prepare young Nigerians for a world full of opportunities. Mrs Yemisi Ogunlade, Chair of the NBCC Education & Schools Group, welcomed guests to the occasion and set the tone for the day’s engagements. In her remarks, she emphasised the importance of strengthening UK–Nigeria partnerships in the education sector, highlighting the opportunities for collaboration, knowledge exchange, and institutional relationships that can expand access to quality education and create brighter prospects for Nigerian students. In his welcome address, Prince Abimbola Olashore, President and Chairman of Council, Nigerian-British Chamber of Commerce (NBCC), emphasised the vital role of education in driving economic growth, developing globally competitive talent, and strengthening Nigeria–UK relations. He highlighted the importance of expanding access to quality education, fostering institutional partnerships, and creating pathways that equip Nigerian students with the skills, knowledge, and international exposure needed to thrive in an evolving global economy. In his keynote address, Hon. Tola Jamiu Alli-Balogun, Lagos State Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, highlighted three key pillars for building the future of education in Nigeria: quality learning, relevant skills, and equitable access to opportunities. He emphasised the need to strengthen foundational competencies such as numeracy, scientific reasoning, and digital competitiveness, while bridging the gap between education and practical, real-world skills. Dr Sulaimon Ogunmuyiwa, Director General, Office of Education Quality Assurance, Lagos State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, also delivered a goodwill message that anchored the conversations in the importance of educational quality and development. Through the plenary session, “Transforming International Education at Home,” and the specialist panel on “Global Qualifications, Local Ground,” participants explored how Nigerian students can access international educational standards while remaining connected to the needs, values and realities of their home country. There was B2B discussions exploring institutional partnerships, UK qualifications, talent development programmes, foundation pathways and international examination opportunities. For the Nigerian-British Chamber of Commerce, this is what building bridges looks like — bringing people, institutions and ideas together to turn educational conversations into opportunities for the next generation. @PlumptreAdvisor @GSLNigeria @FirstBankngr @ngBritish @bethanyschkent #NBCC #UKNigeriaEducationFair #BuildingGlobalPathways #Education #NigeriaUKRelations #GlobalEducation #EducationalPartnerships #FutureOfEducation
