A date range picker where you can select dates in any order! I know I can't be the only one who always gets this wrong in range pickers.

I’ve been appreciating separate columns for dates and times to get really crispy alignment in tables

Absolutely cranking through the front end fixes in peace today while all the engineers are busy swapping out keys

Love this. I will say listening to an album end to end shouldn't be friction, it's how God intended us to listen to artists...
I'm fascinated by the rise of frictionmaxxing as a response to a frictionless life. We engineer away inconvenience, only to discover that some of the friction we removed was part of what made life feel alive in the first place

There's nothing more shameless than calling yourself a designer while shipping 100% copied work and claiming it as an expression of your own creativity

Cannot believe this is the first container query I’ve added to production code! Very handy when there are collapsible elements on the page

It's interesting to me if this is true because it hasn't been my experience at all. As a software designer, I'm often labeled by others as "a creative" but I have never once thought of myself as such. Even when working on personal / experimental software projects like Orbiter, I'm designing to solve a problem. The reason I care about formatting is that it's usually the most salient means of communication to the user about the available options, how to use the system, how reliable is it, etc.
There's a lot of frustrated designers out there who can't accept that their job is to make the company more money. It's not an art project! If you get to have fun and express yourself, that's a nice bonus, but your job is literally just to make the company more money... that's it. Personally, I've never had any problem with that. I think it's a fun challenge - the need for revenue is just another creative constraint. I blame the "design media" and art schools for a lot of this, because they sell the dream that designer = artist when we all know that's just not the job.
