Fiji's ambassador to Israel says the country chose to open its embassy in Jerusalem to stand with Israel during a time of heightened international isolation. After Fiji's 1987 political upheaval, he says, Israel was the only country that stood by it.

The @NobelPrize decision to award @NaviPillay1 deserves scrutiny in light of her own human rights record. At the height of her career, while serving as the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, she was accused of providing China with a list of dissidents—including Uyghurs—seeking approval for participation in UN-related activities. Whatever contributions she may have made to human rights elsewhere, no achievement should place anyone above scrutiny or accountability. Human rights are not selective. They must be defended consistently, especially when the rights and safety of dissidents and persecuted minorities are at stake. The Nobel Committee may recognize her contributions, but this serious controversy cannot simply be brushed aside. A human rights legacy must be judged not only by its achievements, but also by the people it may have failed.

“There is a culture at the U.N. of attacking the West, capitalism, and Israel. And Navi Pillay fell into line. Her track record is very poor on Iran. On Cuba, she has been largely silent. And on China, she was complicit.” — Hillel Neuer in @ilfoglio_it ilfoglio.it/en/world/2026/10…

Hamas has ruled Gaza for 19 years and has 1200 registered journalists. Only 1 documentary exists that criticised Hamas for corruption. The journalist was arrested and jailed. You have not been told the truth. Nobody has.

While Danny Tommo sits in jail, Bushra Shaikh is welcomed onto the BBC. She is an IRGC asset who has addressed terrorist rallies backing multiple proscribed groups and faced no consequences at all. This is two-tier Britain. Islamist extremists like her stay untouchable. Evil.

This is Amit Soussana. Hamas terrorists brutally beat her, tied her up and dragged her away from her home into Gaza. For 55 days, she lived through hell. She was chained by her ankle in a darkened children's bedroom for weeks, forced to ask permission just to use the bathroom. Her captor repeatedly groped her and questioned her about her menstrual cycle. Then he pointed a gun at her forehead and sexually violated her at gunpoint. She was moved between hiding places, beaten and terrorized. After her release, Amit became the first Israeli hostage to publicly describe in detail the sexual abuse she suffered in Hamas captivity. Where was the UN? Where was the Red Cross? Where was the outrage when Israeli women were being sexually assaulted? Amit survived 55 days of Hamas captivity and made sure the world heard what they did to her. Share her story and follow!

For the first time, footage recorded inside a kindergarten in Kibbutz Be’eri following the October 7, 2023 Hamas attack has been released. The video reportedly shows volunteers from the Israeli organization ZAKA examining the devastated building and documenting the remains of victims. According to their accounts, children were among those killed, with some of the bodies severely burned. During their search, the volunteers also discovered a hammer and a knife. The footage reportedly shows body bags used to recover and transport the victims. What makes these images particularly heartbreaking is the location itself — a kindergarten, a place where children should have been playing, learning, and feeling safe. The newly released footage offers a disturbing glimpse into the aftermath of October 7 and the horrifying scenes ZAKA volunteers encountered while recovering victims. Video: siete_octubre (Instagram)

So basically, he just collated a bunch of Hamas reports, didn't even speak to the Israeli side and just reported "genocide".

.@NobelPrize There is a growing consensus that this was a terrible mistake. You should cancel the award to Pillay. Instead, give it to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. He rallied his nation, inspired the free world, and stood against an evil empire bent on conquest.
France 24 reports a “chorus of praise” for Navi Pillay’s Nobel Peace Prize. But what about the chorus of dissent from human rights scholars, activists, democracy dissidents, lawmakers, scholars and a U.N. whistleblower? Here are a few voices you forgot to report, @France24: 🧵

I kolejny przypadek związany z tegoroczną laureatką pokojowego Nobla.
Navi Pillay handed He Geng's name to China. He Geng is the wife of Gao Zhisheng. Gao smuggled a book out of detention in which he recounts being tortured specifically to make him tell his family not to do advocacy. Navi Pillay got the Nobel Peace Prize. Gao is missing.

I did. You, apparently, did not. I know you needed a quick pivot from Albanese, but Pillay is complicit in the Uyghur genocide. I published proof years ago. The UN Tribunal agreed, even after the UN fired the first judge between hearing and verdict. xitter.cf/EmmaReillyTweet/status…
Navi Pillay, Nobel Peace Prize Laureate, was UN High Commissioner for Human Rights from 2008 to 2014. Below are emails sent to China during her tenure, giving advance info on who would speak out about China's human rights abuses. Pillay declined to attend the award to Liu Xiaobo.

The decision to award Navi Pillay the Nobel Peace Prize raises painful questions that I cannot leave unanswered. For years, I have advocated for the rights of the Uyghur people at the UN. Yet within the very institution entrusted with protecting human rights, I have faced Chinese pressure, surveillance and attempts to silence me. In 2017, I was forcibly removed from UN premises. During Pillay’s tenure as UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, particularly in 2012–2013, I encountered serious obstacles to accreditation and access. I later learned that the office she led had shared information about my participation, and that of other human rights defenders, with the Chinese government without our consent. For me, this was a profound betrayal of trust by an institution that should have protected us. The responsibility for this practice still demands a full and transparent accounting. I acknowledge Pillay’s achievements and courage in other areas. But those achievements cannot erase the failure to protect our rights and safety during her leadership. Nor have I seen from her the strong, unequivocal solidarity that I expected in the face of the Uyghur genocide. This is deeply personal. My family has paid a devastating price for my human rights advocacy. My mother died in a Chinese internment camp in 2018. My two brothers remain in Chinese prisons. A Nobel Peace Prize does not place anyone beyond accountability. I want answers: Why was information about human rights defenders shared with China? Who authorised it? And why did those entrusted with our protection fail us? Human rights are universal. That promise must include the Uyghur people.
