It’s hard to believe in hope when you’re confronted with the magnitude of exactly how much hate exists in this country.

this is excellent.
WATCH-- @chrislhayes: It's easier to argue about what college kids are doing than to confront the human misery and destruction that's happening in the actual conflict which is, of course, the source of these protests.

And excellent thread that reminds us roasting human folly—even in a disaster—is not new to social media.

Has anyone at @MLB tried to create an account using their iOS app? Judging by the infinite password creation loop, I'm gonna go with "No".

As long as “Classless pieces of sh*t”, & “F*cking idiots” disrespect talented young women we’ll use our platform to share the stories of those unfairly attacked for being their true selves. Truth is, we should all dare to be as bold as these champions. Today we dare! @thepivot

What message are they trying to send? Healthcare is expensive? (But so is energy, rent, etc) They don't want to pay for employee healthcare? They're proud of paying employee healthcare? They'd rather have govt healthcare? Strange they don't list management bonuses. @mtomasky

Amen. After Tweetbot was cut off I only use the web app and typicall only open it up to check my DMs for replies from customer service depts. It's made a discernible change in my day-to-day. xitter.cf/blankenship/status/162…
I took a week off to go to Philly, see friends, eat food, and attend a Magic: the Gathering convention. I didn’t really use this side of Twitter (I have another account for Magic stuff) or Instagram and honestly felt like I missed nothing, and don’t care. The winds are shifting.

Only things I miss: • Timely news. There's often a 24-48 hour window before news often makes it onto NPR and I hear it in my car running errands, if at all. • Niche and NGO accounts that likely won't make the move to Mastadon for years to come.

This is the most LA thing and I love every second of it.
Thousands of people are filing in for the P-22 “celebration of life” at the Greek Theater in Griffith Park. It’s quite a scene — a bit of a who’s-who for environmentalists and mountain lion supporters!
