Andy Burnham has admitted that the £200m Labour promised for Grangemouth has never been paid. When pressed by STV's Colin Mackay, Burnham said it was "still being discussed". They'd never any intention of saving the refinery jobs or paying £200m to help the local area.

Scotland isn't a colony and Scots who support the Union aren't brainwashed "English nationalists". The Union of 1707 was agreed by the Scottish and English parliaments. Scotland retained its own legal system, church and institutions, and Scots went on to play a huge role in building and governing the UK and its empire. None of that means Scotland must remain in the UK forever. Independence is a perfectly legitimate democratic position and there are serious arguments for it. But comparing fellow Scots who disagree with you to slaves accepting their chains is grotesque. If your case for independence is strong, make it. You shouldn't need to portray half your own country as indoctrinated collaborators simply because they vote differently from you.

We have to understand that when English nationalists tell you that Scots are a "burden" they are speaking of taxes. This is not why England is holding onto Scotland for dear life. Taxes are changeable, politically sensitive and designed to slow down an economy not fund it. Scotland has oil, enough to pay off a massive chunk of debt if needed. It has never ending renewable energy, constant, always on, green and of value. Scotland has Scotch, a world renowned Whisky as synonymous as Vodka is with Russia. It is bankable. We have tourist attractions England can only dream of and a warm, inviting people that make tourists feel at home. Scotlands value is not in its taxes it is in its resources and that would make Scotland a very rich, independent country in its own right. What exactly does England have without Scotland? Debt, unrepayable, ever increasing debt.

Those arguing that an independent Scotland needs a “fully costed economic plan” should apply the same standard to the status quo. What is the fully costed economic plan for keeping Scotland in the UK? Show the projected costs, the income, the outgoings, the debt? Just how are pensions going to be paid for? What investment in Scotland will happen? What are the long term economic assumptions that prove Scotland will be better in the union than independent deciding things for ourselves? Show me where the UK government have posted these things and committed to them?

The news just said that the stolen Irn Bru has been spotted in Cumbria. What more evidence do you need that they are stealing Scotlands national resources? 🤪
