Ahead of the UNICEF zero-dose project implementation phase, we held a stakeholder inception meeting with Busoga Kingdom at the Busoga Kingdom district headquarters in Jinja City, in partnership with @UNICEFUganda and the @MinofHealthUG
As part of the project, we will focus on sexual and reproductive health and rights, maternal & newborn health, and shaping positive social norms that affect health.
The targeted areas include: Kamuli district in Bugabula chiefdom and Namayingo district in Bukholi chiefdom
The kingdom welcomed the project initiative and expressed readiness to support the implementation of the project activities, citing Namayingo as one of the districts that remain underserved and require more attention.

Through a multi-sectoral approach to addressing teenage pregnancy, @namayingo has registered a decline in teenage pregnancy from 26% to 20.1% between April & June 2026 -District Biostatistician Ali Kizito said during the quarterly District Committee for Adolescent health meeting.

As part of the preparations and procedures for the conduct of the 2026 national examinations, the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) has released the timetables for the three national examination sets: the Primary Leaving Examination (#PLE), Uganda Certificate of Education (#UCE), and Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (#UACE).
The 2026 examination cycle will commence on Thursday, 8 October 2026, with the briefing of UCE candidates.
The Primary Leaving Examination (PLE) will commence on Friday, 30 October 2026, with the briefing of candidates, while the UACE examination will begin with candidate briefing on Friday, 6 November 2026.
The 2026 UCE candidates constitute the third cohort of learners to be assessed under the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) at the lower secondary level.
The 2026 UACE candidates were among the pioneer cohorts to undertake the CBC at the lower secondary level. They will, therefore, be assessed under a curriculum that has been aligned with the Competency-Based Curriculum and its corresponding assessment modalities.

The District held its September Technical Planning Committee meeting at Banda S/C as part of its rotational TPC approach.This arrangement brings technical teams closer to communities,strengthen coordination,service delivery monitoring & evidence-based planning at the grassroots.
The Senior Veterinary Officer, Dr. Rogers Kigoonya, & District Communication Officer, Betty Angatai, held a radio talk show on 91.7 Namayingo FM to sensitise farmers on the mandatory Foot-and-Mouth Disease (FMD) vaccination & promote compliance to protect livestock & livelihoods.
We held a coordination meeting ahead of the @MinofHealthUG Measles-Rubella Immunisation Exercise scheduled for October 1–5, 2026. A total of 50,730 children under five are targeted. Parents and caregivers are encouraged to ensure eligible children receive the vaccine.

As a Youth Champion from Mabuka Village, Bukana Sub-County, Mary supports the #ACT4Y-SRHR project, engaging peers and communities through SRHR sensitization and creating safe spaces for young people to ask questions, seek services, and make informed decisions.
Her work reminds us that young people are not just beneficiaries of change, they drive it. From community conversations to local advocacy, Mary is helping bridge information gaps and ensure young people know their rights, choices and power to shape their futures.
