Very unsurprising to see yesterday's school shooting being instantly exploited by an Israeli "special ops veteran" to justify the imposition of "Israel-grade" AI mass surveillance of the internet.
This is how 9/11 was exploited to implement NSA mass surveillance of Americans.

Availability as experienced by users, is the tip of the ice cube. The way some services fail, the incident is changing even as you're trying to resolve it. The problems are "open, complex, dynamic and networked" (Kees Dorst). Why need #systemsengineering for #servicedesign.

👀A peek into the future of contracting....
Last week I was in Amsterdam and was fortunate to gain insights into @mxiqbal work into relational #contracts
The case study is superb and I'm sure it will generate some interesting discussions.
I'll be giving a talk at the @worldcc_ Academic Symposium on 4th of December 2023 and the title will be "Promises as the Building Blocks of Relational Contracts: An Illustrative Example from the Dutch Ministry of Defense".

Business assumes that it's the terms and conditions that protect them, whereas in fact it's the working together to try to agree on a contract in the first place that protects them. The T&C are essentially a sign of mistrust.

This should be taught in every statistics class as literally the first thing after CLT. But often isn't. And hence people misuse statistics and apply wrong models to complex data. Read more from @nntaleb who was an inspiration for this little thread.

This book breaks down services into fundamental components, and provides a framework for determining if your service is coherent
