Katuwa Irfan, a tannery businessman from Kanpur, met Upson from Thailand through Instagram about 6 years ago. The two dated for 4 years. When their love deepened, they got married in Thailand 2 years ago. Irfan would travel to and from Thailand for business purposes.
Over the past 2 years, Irfan took about 60 lakh rupees from Upson. When Upson sensed Irfan's bad intentions, she demanded the money back. Irfan put a condition before his wife Upson that she would have to convert to his religion and live in Kanpur.
Irfan fled from Thailand. He stopped receiving calls. Upson came to Kanpur searching for him and lodged a complaint with the police. Upon arriving in Kanpur, she learned that Irfan has been married for 14 years and also has a wife and children.
After this deception, Upson does not want to continue her relationship with Irfan. She wants her money back. Upson had borrowed this money from the bank and given it to Irfan.
The police have registered a case and arrested Irfan.
