Final rant about being stuck on the A3 coming into London today in a traffic jam that moved five miles in five hours. No exit roads. No service stations Elderly ladies hobbling into the bushes in vain search for a dignified place to pee. Children howling. @TfL said they were doing “emergency repair works” near the Tolworth tunnel. But all day, drivers that finally made it there saw no work happening at all. Nor did I. Nothing. Just a lot of cones. So that @TfL message was apparently not true.
I find I can’t let this this lie. How can this happen ? How can it be Iegal? What part of Broken Britain accounts for this ? The problem here’ isn’t Half Term or bank holiday because this is going INTO London. So what is this ? Is this pure incompetence ? The consequence of outsourcing to dodgy contractors? Or something shadier ? Maybe someone has inside information that could anonymously share ?

With hostilities ongoing for over 170 days, famine is ever closer to becoming a reality in northern #Gaza.
People are starving and getting sick. The limited food available is insufficient to keep adults and children healthy.
There is not much time left to avert the looming famine.

Haifa is a city in the north of Israel where Jewish, Christian, Muslim and Bahá’í not only live in harmony together but actively celebrate each other. The Holiday of Holidays Festival this year runs from December 7th to the 23rd. It is not multi-faith box ticking. The existence of this festival is a genuine and real push for peace and is becoming more and more significant.
While people fight and cause even more divisions both politically and on social media, it is a huge sign of hope that a strong message of togetherness has started in Haifa in an effort to find proper solutions in a concerted drive against tribalism which ultimately has only ever fuelled more death and destruction.
Peace is rational and reasonable. War is irrational, obsolete and lacking the power of reason and, most importantly, unwinnable. May this message spread far and wide. All power to these people keeping hope alive ⬇️
What an amazing boost of hope: hundreds of Jewish and Arab-Palestinian citizens gathered together in Haifa, a Jewish-Arab city in Israel, to send a clear message for partnership and for Israeli-Palestinian peace.
