A tricky position from my today's game at the Atyrau Open tournament in Kazakhstan. Black to move and make a draw. Can you find it?
Wesley So is CRUSHING everyone at the US Championship. Yesterday he won a lost (!) endgame against Ray Robson, today he won a drawn pawn endgame against Andy Woodward. This shows tremendous class. He’s now also risen to No. 6 in the world in live ELO.
What would you sacrifice to reach the top in chess? In my new podcast, Pragg's coach GM RB Ramesh (@Rameshchess) shares his training philosophy and advice on how to become the best. Do not miss this if you want to improve your chess👇
My new tournament starts today - Atyrau Open, final leg of the Kazakhstan Cup. Lots of legends are playing, including Kamsky and Jobava. Also, some of the Uzbek Olympians and top Kazakh, Russian and Indian players (35 GMs overall). It’s going to be exciting!
I'm back to solving the Killer Homework at the @killer_chess Academy every week. Very hard calculation exercises, but it's great training. This week, I managed to solve correctly 2 out of 6 in both sections. Need to improve my form - the next classical event is coming soon.
King’s Gambit has been played at the 2026 Russian superfinal! The game was drawn. Big respect to GM Najer whose king turned out to be a true gigachad.
A nice format for chess training is trying to convert winning positions against engines. This video shows how super weak even the best of us are if compared with AI (not only in chess, by the way): youtu.be/QE8xI5aGeFs?si=Gqpf…
Congrats to Uzbekistan and China on Olympiad gold! Brilliant, dominant performances from both teams! Special congrats to Germany on Open bronze and Kazakhstan on Women’s silver. Huge respect to both Indian teams - strong as ever!
The results of the Olympiad (Open) are now known. Uzbekistan - Gold, India - Silver, Germany - Bronze. In the Women's section, China has sealed Gold, while Silver and Bronze depends on one last game (it should be Kazakhstan and India, but unclear in which order).
