I'm realizing a lot of people still seem to believe "Extroverts recharge by being around people, introverts recharge by being alone!" ....there's zero evidence for this, in fact, the evidence pretty heavily debunks this framing! 1) Socializing lifts mood for basically everyone Experience-sampling studies (Fleeson, Malanos and Achille, 2002) find that people felt better in moments when they were acting extroverted, including introverts 2) Lucas and colleagues (2008) found introverts AND extroverts both reported more happiness in social situations AKA extroverts’ higher baseline happiness wasn’t explained by their spending more time around people 3) Introverts mispredict how they’ll feel Zelenski, Santoro and Whelan (2012) found introverts expected acting extraverted to feel worse than it actually did. 4) Social fatigue is universal! Leikas and Ilmarinen (2017) found extraverted behavior produced an immediate mood boost and then more fatigue about three hours later, regardless of a person’s trait level Getting tired after a party is normal for everyone, it doesn’t mean you're an introvert Bottom line is, most people feel better after interacting with people AND most people need some downtime afterwards Introverts and extroverts mostly just differ in the amount of socialization they each seek and prefer - but this doesn't predict whether they'll enjoy it or whether it will benefit them

I'm fascinated by the rise of frictionmaxxing as a response to a frictionless life. We engineer away inconvenience, only to discover that some of the friction we removed was part of what made life feel alive in the first place
Someone could probably write a book (if they haven’t already) about the cycle of technology productizing the removal of friction in the name of convenience only for us to discover that the friction was a load-bearing part of the social compact.

This is the video I posted a couple weeks ago that saved me. Please, if you have any of these symptoms, go to the hospital. Don’t wait for appointments. Time is precious when it’s a stroke. Love you all SO MUCH!!

A girl just said she tried to get rejected 1000 times in 2025 and ended up being cast in plays, winning pageants, securing hella paid brand deals, and appearing in commercials. This is your sign to chase rejection to the point of "accidental" success. You'll be surprised.

Can we PLEASE normalize just hanging out at each other’s houses again? Why does every friendship meetup need to be a whole production, a restaurant reservation, and a $150 bill? I just want to sit on your couch, drink something, and talk for hours.

Colleen Hoover, a married, older woman, DM’d a young woman she didn’t know to invite her to a screening. Does this not sound weird to anyone else? She also paid for her hotel, which is screaming red flags to me 😱😱

They told her the price, she chose not to purchase it. That's not refusing to sell it to her.
So why wouldn’t they sell it to her?

With this whole Kelly Clarkson thing, what is it psychologically that drives people to participate in canceling someone where does this blood thirst and anger come from over these nothings, people want to destroy others because they looked at someone wrong. What drives that?

She can express her bad experience, unfortunately freedom of speech doesn't mean freedom to not be judged for your actions and comments. She did punch down because she knew posting their name would incite her followers to harass the staff and a store they've never been to.
People only defend the right to speak about feeling mistreated when it fits their side. The second it doesn’t, that same right becomes “too much” or “punching down.” Either we ALL get to share our experiences, or NONE of us do. No middle ground still means free speech.

Also just because you FEEL mistreated doesn't mean you ARE mistreated. Many customers and people in general have a victim complex feeling like they're being attacked for being told something they don't want to hear. Men being told "No" often describe it as mistreatment.

FORCING THEM TO SAY THEIR NAMES SO THEY CAN’T RE SELL IT IS GENIUS

Breaking News 🚨 The coffee drinking store owners have been caught on video doing the unthinkable… POURING COFFEE FOR CUSTOMERS! 😱 The mean ole store owner pours two cups of coffee. He hands one to a customer and has a friendly conversation with her before offering the second cup to another customer who politely declines. And this was all BEFORE he suddenly in the flick of a switch transformed into the rudest, most judgmental store owner in the entire world when none other than Queen Kelly Clarkson walked through the door! The horror! (The last part is satire, by the way, because I know how yall love to take everything I say literally. 😂)

My thing is, even if it went exactly as Kelly said (which is up for interpretation and I err on giving people--especially customer service workers--grace), her response was disproportionate and she had to know that. She had to know what her blasting them would do to the individuals who work there and the store as a whole and it was not a reasonable or fair "punishment" for the alleged "crime." Like who among us hasn't had a frustrating experience at a shop. Taking the time and energy to post about it on social media (especially when you've got plenty in your life to be happy about!) just feels so petty and mean-spirited to me. Which are never words I thought I'd associate with Kelly Clarkson. There's just no way that store clerk deserves the kind of national backlash he's gotten for what sounds like a miscommunication.
I didn’t chime in on this because a) I honestly didn’t care that much and b) there are usually two sides to these things. But the way this went, as best I can tell, is that Kelly Clarkson walked into this Brooklyn store, voluntarily looking a bit homeless, and inquired about a fake bird. In between helping a ton of other people, they told her the bird was not for sale but here is the artist’s info, he sells them for about $15,000. In the meantime, here is a $2,000 bird they DO offer. Which Clarkson took to mean, “You can’t afford our bougie bird that costs as much as a baby grand so here, take this pathetic $2,000 knock-off like good little poor.” (Which is a stupid interpretation all around because who but a rich person has $2k to drop on a fake bird? But okay.) Anyway, that was not the intended message, but she immediately walked out and put this little business on blast to her millions of followers who instantly swarmed like bees with zero additional information. I don’t give a crap whether Clarkson ends up with a fake bird or how much it costs. She can have a menagerie of $20,000 parakeets or she can whittle them herself out of sticks from her backyard, I don’t care. But I do care that so many people can be instantly riled up on social media to attack a potentially innocent person or business simply because their celebrity idol tells them to.

All the people crying over someone leaning casually and sipping coffee are cracking me up. The dude is running a hobby store (excuse me the RICH dude) and treating his job like we'd all like. Like it's nice but low pressure. He's not begging ppl. Buy it or don't. Up to you. 🤷‍♀️

How on earth did she get "Pretty Woman" from this? The shop seems relaxed & casual, she's dressed like everyone else. It doesn't appear snobby?? If anything, it seems like she's pissed bc they didn't cater to her & she was treated like everyone else. She looks like a Karen.
