The team have been very busy lately working on our brand new product.
Here is a sneak peak - the video shows a WordPress install on Lambda, it looks super simple but I can assure you there is quite a bit going on under the covers, including our cloud native network filesystem.
Introducing Webslice. The easiest way to deploy WordPress (and much more) on Serverless.
We are currently in early Alpha and we are looking forward to sharing more in the coming weeks.
No servers were harmed in the making of this video.

After many years of hard work, I couldn't be more proud of our team that launched Webslice Serverless yesterday.
It would be an understatement to say we have learnt more on this journey than I ever thought possible, and I am looking forward to talking more about how Webslice.
The T3A instance is the newest x86 VM for burstable workloads available on AWS. It was based on Zen 1 and launched in 2019.
A lot has happened since then... AMD shipped the first of their Zen 5 chips last week.
I didn't have Spark charging for xtra.co.nz mailboxes on my bingo board for 2024.
I'm unsure if domains are a leading, lagging or noisy indicator of anything but they're currently shrinking.
New Zealand, something very usual is happening : We're losing .nz domains. What's going on, and how long will it keep happening? myhost.nz/blog/nz-domains-sh…
Hot Take: If you are a small to medium-sized team (most NZ teams) or an early-stage project: You probably don’t need microservices.
I've been super impressed with DHH's transparency covering their cloud exit. Worth a read.
"The cloud exit is done, but the questions keep coming. Oh do they keep coming. So rather than answer the same points over and over (and OVER!), I thought I’d compile a good old fashioned list of Frequently Asked Questions." world.hey.com/dhh/the-big-cl…
Lazywebs: Does anyone know of any good NZ Christmas Lights lists? So far I've got lightupchristmas.co.nz/ - but it's a little... Light.
Something I didn't have on my bingo card tonight was Simon Bridges. His analysis is almost as slick as his hair!

That's right - 100% NZ-owned and committed to staying that way. If you want to get in touch with our team in Auckland: sitehost.nz/contact
A sad day for NZ hosting. We're seeing a lot of kiwi businesses affected by the Discount Domains outage today.
While we don't yet know what has happened here, I did write something almost 2 years ago when a group of NZ hosting brands including Discount Domains were acquired.
If you're affected or know someone who is affected, it might be worth a read: sitehost.nz/blog/another-hos…
Love that we've got an International Tournament with the FIFA Women's World Cup on our doorstep.
There are some good features in the ticketing system, but I cannot believe that in 2023AD FIFA are making people install an app to use their tickets though. What a poor experience.
Its days like today I feel my whole career has been one big lie. #chatgptknows
Now SQLite really is serverless eh. Good to see the core project embracing this style of architecture.

Well this brings a whole new meaning to the phrase "Dingo ate my baby!"

Interested in AI? Here is a pretty cool read on how its being used to find more efficient algorithms.
Our latest work in @Nature today: #AlphaDev discovered a new faster sorting algorithm that we open sourced to the main C++ library for all developers to use. This is just the beginning of AI being used to find many more efficiencies in code in future dpmd.ai/alphadev-tw
Thoroughly enjoyed my trip to Christchurch. But why on earth is the airport air bridge just a lot of sheep bleating? #bitweird
