BREAKING: The BYU School of Medicine has received preliminary accreditation from the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME), authorizing the school to recruit and admit students and launch its MD program.
@byumedschool will welcome its first students in July 2027 and will begin accepting applications in the coming weeks following activation of its listing on the American Medical College Application Service (AMCAS).
The BYU Board of Trustees has also approved plans for the school's future home, a 275,000-square-foot building on BYU's West Campus, just east of Intermountain Health's Utah Valley Hospital—the School of Medicine’s primary clinical affiliate. Construction is expected to begin in 2027.

A truth I hope will sink deeply into your soul is that your best is certainly good enough, that you are loved more than you can imagine, and that it isn't your achievements that define you, far less that determine anything about your worth or how you are seen by your Father in Heaven and His Son.

He is risen! And because Christ rose again, we will too. Thanks to Him, no pain, fear, failure, or unfairness is permanent. This is greater love. This is Easter.

As Mary Magdalene and her companions mournfully approached the Garden Tomb, two angels appeared to them and shared the clarion call of all Christianity:
"Why seek ye the living among the dead?"
"He is not here, but is risen" (Luke 24:5-6).
This Easter season we also joyfully testify of this same eternal truth—Jesus Christ is risen. He lives!
The Savior of the world was crucified and, on the third day, rose from the dead, "the firstfruits of them that slept" (1 Corinthians 15:20). His Resurrection allows all to be resurrected, and through His grace, we can find peace "which passeth all understanding" (Philippians 4:7) and "be perfected in him" (Moroni 10:32).
We invite each of you during this Easter season to "seek this Jesus of whom the prophets and apostles have written" (Ether 12:41). As you do so, we testify that your Easter celebrations can strengthen your own faith and testimony that "death is conquered; man is free. Christ has won the victory" ("He Is Risen!" Hymns, no. 199).

Sometimes the Lord asks us to step into responsibilities that feel bigger than we are. In those moments, I treasure the counsel, “Trust in the Lord” (Proverbs 3:5–6) and the Savior’s promise, “Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you” (John 15:16).
When you feel you are not good enough for the task you have been called to do, remember: The Lord’s confidence gives you the ability to boldly move ahead. President Thomas S. Monson taught, “Whom the Lord calls, the Lord qualifies.”
Trust in the Lord.
Offer what you have and let Him make it perfect.
Move forward with humility and courage.
He will strengthen your works and magnify your consecrated efforts.

Cougar Nation, what would Jay staying mean to you?
Jay, you've poured your heart into Cougar Nation, turning our defense into one of the best in the nation, building unbreakable bonds with players who call you family, and helping deliver the program's first 12-win season in decades.
BYU isn't just a job; it's home. It's where your legacy is being written in Provo, surrounded by faith, family, and fans who love you like one of our own through thick and thin.
What would it mean to finish what you started here? To watch those young men you recruited and coached become legends under your guidance? Cougar Nation is all in for you. We are grateful for you.
Cougar Nation, share below what Jay staying would mean to YOU (your memories, your gratitude, your hopes). The most moving response wins 2026 BYU season tickets.
Let's surround him with love as he is making an important decision. 💙🏈
