It was great to join @politicseastmid to discuss @TheGreenParty approach to policing. I pointed out:
🚨we need to listen to victims, staff and all stakeholders in order to make good policy
🚨victims need to be centred and believed
🚨policing cannot be looked at in isolation when so many other spaces like mental health, youth services, cost of living all play into crime
🚨a decade and half of public services being cut is the glaring issue that both main parties seem to be happy to ignore
🚨the social safety net needs to be restored with properly funded public services
