Saw a man bragging, "I haven't read a book in two years!" If you wonder why society is fracturing, it's because this is happening on a large scale. And the solution is so simple: just read. Do not go gently into the illiterate future they're building.

Raise your hands if you support that google, instagram, Threads, YouTube and other platforms should bring back the non-AI version of Google. Like no AI summary, no AI overview, no AI to read the internet, like we want them to show the actual results.

I came across a Reddit post that described AI in a way I can’t stop thinking about: “AI allows the wealthy to access skills while stripping skilled people of their ability to access wealth.” I don’t think I’ve ever seen the purpose of AI captured so brutally and accurately.

Powerful statement from mathematicians around the world. “We urge mathematicians to discontinue their work with OpenAI and to return to a vision of science that centers human understanding.” The backlash to AI is only just beginning. terrytao.wordpress.com/2026/…

Intelligence must draw on memory. The mind must not simply compile data — as an algorithm now does more quickly than we can — but recall lived experiences, which contain depths of meaning that only the human soul can recognize, and connect more deeply with the goodness of these experiences. Everything that is good begins “with the Spirit” and thus possesses a breath, a dynamism and a sense of communion that, once experienced, are engraved upon the heart. vatican.va/content/leo-xiv/e…

The fact that generative AI has created a fundamental doubt in reality. We now pause to check if an artwork, video, or design is even human-made before we can fully appreciate it. It has damaged the instinctive joy of it. It’s sickeningly tragic.

Remember when typing was an actual subject in school? We sat in a classroom learning where to put our fingers on a keyboard, and someone literally graded us on how many words we could type per minute. Now kids grow up using screens before they can even spell.

This is historic. These French high school students know their history and are paying homage to the Paris Commune: One of the world’s first self-governing workers’ states! The Paris Commune introduced major socialist policy victories for the people including free education, debt and rent relief, and worker-owned factories. The workers' state lasted for 72 days before it was brutally suppressed and violently overthrown by the French Army, which represented the bourgeois political forces of France. Here we are 155 years later and the same battle between capital and labor [the ruling class and working class] wages on only this time the people will win!

The world lost an exceptional man today, and I lost the man who shaped me into the person and father I am today. My Dad died unexpectedly this morning at 66. He was the best Dad in the world, but more importantly, the best Grampy to our three girls. I love you forever, Pop. 💔

Read whatever you want. Read romance, classics, thrillers, poetry, nonfiction. Read one book a month or five in a week. Read quickly or take your time. Read to learn, read to escape, read because you enjoy it. Just read in whatever way makes you happy and don't let anybody make you feel like you're doing it wrong.

So if you’re getting annoyed with the AI overview at the top of your Google search page, Ruby Granger recently shared a very useful trick: just type “-ai” at the end of your query and it will give you the results without AI, like the Google we once had.
Can we please have the non-AI version of Google back? I do not want an AI summary. I do not want an AI overview. I do not want AI to read the internet for me. I want Google to show me the actual results. How do I turn this nonsense off?

He also had a lot of books - "...his personal library in 1953 contained an estimated 20 000 to 25 000 books, pamphlets and periodicals". Quite unusual for an "illiterate peasant" turned "bloody dictator", wouldn't you say..?🤔
Stalin (1878–1953). Joseph Vassarianovich Jugashvili was a Georgian revolutionary and Bolshevik who became the General Secretary of the Communist party of the Soviet Union. Stalin, or “man of steel” was the most enduring of the underground pseudonyms which he took, in order to carry out his revolutionary work under the Tsarist autocracy and evade their hated political police, the Okhrana. Stalin was imprisoned and exiled no fewer than five times. In every case he was not broken, but carried on his work, and escaped to resume contact with the underground revolutionary network. His father was a shoemaker and factory worker. His mother a simple peasant woman. As a brilliant young student, despite humble origins, he was educated in the only public schooling available in those times - the religious seminary in Tiflis, Georgia. Coming into contact with many philosophical and historical works, he read widely and thought deeply. He came into contact too with illegal Marxist literature, saw its power and truth and set out upon the journey of becoming a Marxist, a social scientist and great intellectual thinker. Realising that “philosophers have only interpreted the world, the point however is to change it”, he went among the workers to educate and grow the revolutionary movement. He took part in workers reading circles, organised unions and demonstrations, made contact with and became a disciple of the great Lenin. He was a theoretician and practical revolutionary, taking part in the 1905 and February 1917 revolutions in Russia, that overthrew Tsarism. He was a key leader and organiser of the October 1917 Revolution which overthrew Capitalism, brought Russia out of WW1, and so ended the mechanised slaughter of the inter imperialist world war, bringing into being the world’s first Socialist State. Under his stewardship the U.S.S.R. went from a group of poor agrarian countries, decimated and pillaged by the imperialists, to an electrified world superpower. It was the Soviet Union who made the greatest contribution to the defeat of fascism, in World War 2, under the leadership of Generalissimo Stalin. The Soviet people made enormous sacrifices to vanquish German imperialism, intent on imposing its regime of slavery, exploitation and racial superiority on the Russian and Slavic peoples. The USSR suffered the most losses of the Allies in the Great Patriotic War (10 million soldiers, and a brutal 17 million civilian deaths due to the the barbaric German occupiers brutality toward the Soviet Socialist motherland). It was the Red Army that pushed the Nazi hordes back until they were able to fly the red flag of proletarian revolution from atop the Reichstag in Berlin. Josef Vassarianovich Stalin’s memory has been sullied by lies and slanders, academic “propaganda with footnotes” created by imperialist shills, IRD, MI6 and CIA agents such as Robert Conquest, and open fascist proxies of imperialism such as Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn. The power of these “works” has not been their great truth - quite the reverse, they are built upon a mountain of lies and falsifications - but the financial power of the backers, publishers, media and government connections of the hired cold-war warriors whom penned them. It is the capitalist class and the power and wealth that comes from the wage slavery of the mass of the workers that enables them to spread these lies. They quite rightly see that if the truth of the communist movement spreads among the working class, their privilege will crumble. His name is resurfacing in conversations within the Russian Federation. Statues are being re-erected. The garbage that he predicted would amass on his grave is slowly being blown away. History has a habit of doing that. As the crises of capitalism deepen, more workers are once again looking back to the Soviet experience — and its key architects who built and defended it. Joseph Stalin. Bolshevik. Revolutionary. Student of Lenin. youtu.be/poOZFKoEx9c?si=6Ujk…
