Centuries ahead of its time, the Arthashastra laid the roots for feminist governance. From positive discrimination to modern policies, gender equality is woven deep into our history. What’s your take on this connection?

Western feminism often focuses on competition; ancient Indian philosophy embraces complementarity. Ardhanarishvara (Shiva & Shakti) reminds us true equality isn't matriarchy, but mutual respect. Thoughts on this approach? 🎙️

British Raj didn't just adopt Manusmriti. Translating Mitakshara & Dayabhaga built AngloHindu laws to legitimize divide & rule. Weaponizing caste & gender divisions gave religious sanction to patriarchy. History is about who writes the rules! #IndianHistory#Colonialism@BluOneInk

Thrilled by @Outlookindia review of “Women in the Womb of Time”! Honored they called it an "engrossing, informed conversation" rather than a discourse, and an "impressive start" to exploring the ancient Indian ethos. Grateful to @IANS!

Was feminism born in the modern age, or has it always been woven into the fabric of civilization?
Women in the Womb of Time by Mukul Kumar takes readers on a fascinating journey through ancient India, uncovering the voices, agency, and intellectual contributions of women that history often overlooks.
If you believe understanding the future begins with rediscovering the past, this is a book you cannot miss.
