i've seen a lot of posts like this lately, where people bemoan the death of their hobbies, and it seems to boil down to one exact thing: they derive joy not from being able to do something themselves, but from others being unable to do it. if a random stranger failing to answer your quiz is enough to ruin your enjoyment of the hobby or the community, maybe you don't love it as much as you think you do.
Recently attended an in-person handheld game console hackathon. I wrote a raycaster by hand. Someone wearing a “I ❤️ slop” tshirt saw mine and said “oh I wrote a ray caster too!”. They showed me. It was a ray *tracer* and claude did all the work. The person didn’t know basic graphics terms. They couldn’t answer basic questions about how it worked, could only talk about their prompting harness. Sad how AI is ruining the craft and community for people that actually like to program and have spent their lives getting good at it.

French men built this in the 1800s and it has been carefully maintained for 150+ years… It survived both World Wars. The far-left and their imported migrants just destroyed it.
Absolute savages… The historic town hall in Limoges, France is gone. The steeple just collapsed.

You can do whatever you want. The only thing stopping you is yourself.

Gracias Dios por hacerme capitalista y no un zurdo triste y resentido. Qué lindo estar siempre del lado del progreso y la felicidad.

I wish there was a way we could just rip off the bandaid as a society and start handing out UBI and ditch all of the fake jobs but that's just not how reality works. You're going to have to hang in there. There's going to be pain and loss. It will not last forever. Have a plan.

A significant part of human ingenuity is driven by a single goal: designing ways to ease the inherent burdens of existence.

Self improvement is the habit of pretending to be where you want to be and doing it over and over again. It’s a continuous process of growth and development that is the easiest to achieve on a day to day basis.

We didn’t ask to be here. We simply exist and are attempting to navigate this experience to the best of our abilities.

If Republicans introduced a UBI and made it benefit the capitalist system, the whole socialist movement would be memory holed overnight.
47% of voters ages 18 to 29 have a negative view of capitalism, per NBC.

We don’t have a choice right now.

Gestalt is the essence of everything.

If we continue on this trajectory, we can have 9 to 12 million people unemployed by 2030. We must introduce a UBI, and we must prioritize its implementation above all. This tech has brought us closer to having freedom and autonomy in our daily lives than anything else.

I think people are aware of the situation, but they’re overwhelmed and can’t comprehend it. It’s known that individuals with limited intellectual capacity tend to destroy what is considered great. History serves as a reminder of this!
its hard to fathom the amount of cope required to believe AI isnt the biggest thing to happen to humanity since fire. i remember people doing this with the Internet too 😂”e-commerce will never work nobody is going to want to shop online the internet will be dead by 2005”

Wow. @EmbarkStudios knocked it out of the park with the Arc Raiders update. At first I was hesitant about the outpost but now it clicked, it’s a cool way to showcase your findings. New map is incredible, I have had about dozen rounds and I still haven’t seen everything.

I’m surprised how far behind @elonmusk and @grok are. He has immense potential to create an exceptional product, but it feels rather stagnant. Grok team urgently need to build a comprehensive all in one workman’s dashboard with numerous features and functionalities.
