Good question. The 'hotpot' cyberpunk flavor of Chongqing marks a shift in modernity, from - cyberpunk + Generation X as Vancouver BC's world-historical cultural exports (like @mudede once described it) to today's more pervasive embrace of sf themes.

Chongqing is one of the most unique cities I’ve been to in China. Its "cyberpunk" reputation doesn’t do it justice. There’s this beautiful tension between its old history (century-old stairs, wartime tunnels) and the full speed of the future (neon lights, incredible skyscrapers), with the streets actually smelling like hotpot – such a special mix (or is that, in fact, what cyberpunk actually really is?!😅)
