Bristol & the West of England call themselves a City & Region of Sanctuary. However, many are excluded from it due to high bus fares. A day ticket is £6.50, almost a full day’s income for someone seeking asylum.
Connection, safety & opportunity should never depend on a bus fare.

Driving is a privilege. It is time that sentences reflect that, longer bans are made more common & at least equivalent to their victims’ recovery. This woman should also not be behind the wheel of a car until she has done an extensive retest.

What not many people realise about UK student loans is that earners in the middle of the salary range end up paying back far more than either lower or higher earners, as they earn enough to pay the loan and interest back before the 30 year cut off, but not enough to pay it off early before the interest balloons.
Someone earning £70k ends up paying almost double someone on £150k.

Black bins are always consistent- if I had moved my recycling (especially food waste) to my bin it would have been collected. Now I have full recycling bins that have been again failed to be emptied

It’s ridiculous how inconsistent maternity leave is and how conditional on an employer - it should be consistent. 6 weeks in Higher Education. Meanwhile, in some parts of public sector in Scotland: 52 weeks full pay.
