This is kind of a fucked-up framing - it makes it sound like an immediate reaction, whereas in fact she contronted a guy in the street, forced him into a van, shot him, dumped the body and repainted the van- when caught, she said she'd heard bad things about him weeks earlier

Is it only torture if the numbers turn into English words at the end, or is it still torture if they just stay numbers? Would it be immoral to crunch the numbers by hand? What if I swap out the letter-string map at the end, turning "bad" into "good", "ouch" into "yum", and so on?
