We've spent a lot of time at @KeycardAI thinking about how authentication and authorization need to evolve as agents take on more work.
API keys and OAuth scopes were never designed to account for tasks, delegation between agents, or agents acting on their own.
I wrote about how we're approaching this and what we think needs to change.

@KeycardAI is set to solve the biggest remaining problem in production AI: auth
Auth for agents is the biggest remaining gap between cool toy and production grade autonomy.
The permission problem is perpetuated by an age of human driven computing where static roles and broad scopes were sufficient - it doesn’t work for agents - permissions have to be task scope and contextual to the progression of the task.
We’re solving this @KeycardAI

Every OSS co wants to build community, but few really understand how a community is different from an audience..
..and how to make community building EVERYONE on the team's job
Check out the latest ep where @tnachen & I dig into community w/ @mlopscommunity founder @Dpbrinkm
What does it take to build a community people actually want to join?

“VC market in one word right now = kingmaking. VCs have shifted from funding proof to funding possibility. The more investors price startups off hypothetical endgames, the more fundraising becomes a contest of narrative gravity rather than business fundamentals, and the greater the risk of creating the next generation of zombie companies.”

Everyone's talking about AI agents, few are talking about how to manage 100s of them 🤖
@tnachen & @robby_mtf sat down with @dotta, creator of viral OSS project @papercliping, to dig into how 1 person can manage an entire fleet of agents using their platform

As an OpenClaw user, I was struggling to manage a team of agents...
...then I discovered @papercliping 📎
It's the viral open source project to coordinate a whole team of agents in a structure that's highly intuitive
Also, as a "non technical" user, I found it super easy to onboard and start iterating with
I strongly believe the future is teams of agents managed by humans - and Paperclip is leading the way towards that vision!
Check out mine and @tnachen convo with Paperclip founder @dotta 🤖

@fffabulous of @GVteam on #ConnectedStack: "Last year's room delivered — conversations that started there became pilots, partnerships, and deployments."
She's pointing at something most people miss about enterprise AI.
The bottleneck isn't the model. It's trust. Every buyer is asking: who else like me deployed this, and did it work? That gets answered by a peer: in person and off the record.
Last year's room has receipts: major enterprise contracts, $4.5B in acquisitions, $2.5B+ raised at multi-billion-dollar valuations.
This year, 20 venture firms, including @GVteam and @trueventures, are each nominating the founders defining what wins tomorrow.
September 10. San Francisco.

Coming out of Connected Stack 2025, the founders who took our stage went on to raise $2.9B+ in new capital, sign major enterprise contracts, and exit at $4.5B+.
On September 10th in SF, #ConnectedStack returns.
20+ leading venture firms co-host, and each one nominates a founder hitting escape velocity for the stage. These are the names that will dominate the enterprise AI conversation. Every firm curates their attendee list, so the room is as high-signal as it gets.
For one morning, 1,000+ builders, backers, and buyers of enterprise AI come together to share what is actually moving the needle. Less noise, more results.
Last year: @realpaulsmith of @AnthropicAI, @levie of @Box, @rauchg of @vercel, and founders from @baseten, @chronosphereio, @cresta, @vezainc, @joinHandshake, @DecagonAI, @ExaAILabs, and many more.
On September 10, you'll want to be in the room to meet the next wave.

For the longest time, Terraform dominated the infra-as-code space
But there’s a new player in town that addresses one of the key issues with Terraform: state (ie making sure your code matches what’s actually running)
Check out @tnachen & I’s convo w/ @pavlobaron all about it👇
Most Infra-as-Code tools have the same blind spot: state
That's why drift happens - your code and your infrastructure stop agreeing
Our co-hosts @robby_mtf & @tnachen unpack this (as well as what AI / agents need in an infra-as-code tool) with @plateng_labs CEO @pavlobaron 👇
