they should make you read this post immediately after watching the film because i think it makes holmes' dynamic with her husband make more sense
Reminder that an anonymous Theranos employee discussed the whole fraud (without naming the company) on a popular subreddit years before the WSJ broke the story

Wow
So @TylerShultz_ as a Theranos whistleblower. And he wrote the piece you need to read about ‘You Can See Everything.’ Elizabeth Holmes is still lying, he says. And the filmmakers, while creating a great piece of art, fall short on looking outside the walls of her apartment to document that. One key detail: "My wife had to squeeze my arm to prevent me from jumping out of my seat in the theater and screaming, THAT IS NOT THE DEVICE." Again, that device Holmes showed? It's not the one we're talking about!!!! Having seen the film, I basically agree with Tyler's take. statnews.com/2026/10/19/eliz…

It was an absolutely fascinating watch but all of this is also true
I enjoyed watching the movie but I apparently wrote what may be the only critical comment of "You Can See Everything” in America. ms.now/opinion/elizabeth-hol…

Alright folks, people have been skeptical of our new Aaron Sorkin movie, worrying that it could be overloaded with his worst creative impulses totally unchecked. Cue up the clip where the DUMB woman gets scolded by the PERFECT man who is ALWAYS RIGHT, that’ll show ‘em
Exclusive clip from ‘THE SOCIAL RECKONING’, starring Jeremy Allen White and Mikey Madison. The film follows an engineer who becomes a whistleblower on Facebook's most guarded secrets. Only in theaters on October 9.

Season 2 will be the trolley problem
EXCLUSIVE: Netflix has announced "The New Stanford Prison Experiment," an unscripted series streaming Oct. 21. "Thirty willing participants enter a real prison and are randomly assigned as guards or prisoners. Thrust into a system of power, hierarchy, and control, they’ll discover whether ordinary people inevitably conform to the roles they’re given—or whether empathy, morality, and individuality can withstand the forces pushing them in the opposite direction. As the pressure builds and the balance of power begins to shift, the central question feels more urgent than ever: Does power corrupt?" wp.me/pc8uak-1lHKzp

it's very easy to point fingers “abroad” (and there’s good reason to), but this also happens in the united states; it just usually happens in underground spaces that don’t have the same veneer of legality as they do abroad nytimes.com/2026/08/26/healt…
