Director/Co-Writer Walter Hillโ€™s bayou thriller โ€˜Southern Comfortโ€™ starring Keith Carradine, Powers Boothe, T. K. Carter, Brion James, Peter Coyote, Sonny Landham, and Fred Ward was released to theaters 45 years ago this week (September 1981) ๐Ÿช– ๐Ÿ”ซ ๐Ÿงจโ€จโ€จ"๐š†๐šŽ๐š•๐š•, ๐šข๐š˜๐šž ๐š”๐š—๐š˜๐š  ๐š‘๐š˜๐š  ๐š’๐š ๐š’๐šœ, ๐š๐š˜๐š ๐š— ๐š‘๐šŽ๐š›๐šŽ ๐š’๐š— ๐™ป๐š˜๐šž๐š’๐šœ๐š’๐šŠ๐š—๐šŠ, ๐š ๐šŽ ๐š๐š˜๐š—'๐š ๐šŒ๐šŠ๐š›๐š›๐šข ๐š๐šž๐š—๐šœ. ๐š†๐šŽ ๐šŒ๐šŠ๐š›๐š›๐šข ๐š›๐š˜๐š™๐šŽ๐šœ, ๐š๐™ฒ ๐šŒ๐š˜๐š•๐šŠ๐šœ, ๐šŠ๐š—๐š ๐š–๐š˜๐š˜๐š— ๐š™๐š’๐šŽ๐šœ. ๐š†๐šŽ'๐š›๐šŽ ๐š—๐š˜๐š ๐š๐š˜๐š˜ ๐šœ๐š–๐šŠ๐š›๐š, ๐š‹๐šž๐š ๐š ๐šŽ ๐š‘๐šŠ๐šŸ๐šŽ ๐šŠ ๐š›๐šŽ๐šŠ๐š• ๐š๐š˜๐š˜๐š ๐š๐š’๐š–๐šŽ."โ€จโ€จTRIVIA: In an interview after 'Southern Comfort' was released, Powers Boothe said that the filming experience was difficult but rewarding until a point near the middle of December 1980 when the cast collectively lost their patience due to the extremely cold and wet weather. Director Walter Hill noticed it, and called for a three week hiatus where everyone could spend holidays with their families before returning to finish the movie. (IMDB) ๐Ÿ–ค

The mid to late 90s had some fantastic disaster films and one of my favorites is Sylvester Stallone's Daylight. Any other fans?

Exactly the same Mark. Batman is at the top spot for me and Sleepy Hollow is right behind it. That's an awesome poster from you bro! ๐ŸคŸ๐Ÿ‘Š๐Ÿ”ฅ

Iโ€™ve actually rewatched 3 of those 4 throughout this year. Iโ€™m going to have to go with Blade but I do love all 4!

Event Horizon. Because it's the best in terms of horror. Tremors is just goofy fun, Blade is comic book territory (well done though) & Sleepy Hollow ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ haven't seen. The haunted spaceship(house) & Hell as another dimension both make EH special along with some good actors(Fish,Sam

This is definitely a tough one Mark. Halloween is my favourite time of the year, so I will go with Sleepy Hollow. One of my favourite Tim Burton movies.

Watched Primetime in theaters. Total embarrassment. Audience audibly turned on it. Lance Oppenheim is definitely a predator, should be blacklisted. Every pedophile was shown sympathetically. Chris Hanson is a 2D megalomaniac cartoon. Tries to make him look worse than pedophiles. Off the top of my head: - bizarre Indian mysticism plot about how mob justice is the real monster. - rabbi pedophile has powerful aura that shocks Chris Hansen by asking him "who gave you the right" - everything is dramatized and fictionalized as a literal comedy - perverted justice made out as a bunch of reckless amateurs - perverted justice falsely accused of enticing pedophiles with sexual comments - movie ends with gay decoy singing musical to pedophile who kills himself claiming he just wanted a friend Trash
