New @chron — Will Anderson Jr. cried as a teenager when moved from running back to defensive end. He cried tears of joy over his contract last week.
Texans DC Matt Burke isn’t surprised by Anderson’s tears. He praised the emotional intelligence of Houston’s young leader on Tuesday.
“I love the fact that he just plays with pure emotion. Joy, thankfulness, tears of joy sometimes pregame.
“I know if I look back and he's having one of those moments during the anthem I'm like, ‘ah, this is going to be a good one for sure.’”

I really love early Astros history. The Houston Colt .45s were a collection of hapless, fringe major leaguers and misfits.
So it makes sense that on this day in 1964, they became the first — and only team still — to lose a no-hitter. I remembered it here:

Keep thinking about this re: Durant trap.
Using KD as the initiator + inviting the double team over and over is especially maddening given Durant 𝙝𝙞𝙢𝙨𝙚𝙡𝙛 called for a change to this strategy last month.
If Durant sees this as a problem, why doesn’t Ime Udoka?
Kevin Durant also had extended commentary on the trap. Doesn’t want to be the lead ball-handler when opponents show that coverage:
“Maybe I just gotta get out the way, get in the corner, space the floor out for other guys.”
More from @KDTrey5:
“When I get the ball against certain teams they just gonna sell out and say 'we just gonna double and play a little zone behind you and see what happens, if we give up open shots that's cool.’
“It's been happening throughout the season, I'm starting to figure out I think I just need to get out the way and let other guys handle the ball.”

Best moment of @WBCBaseball in Houston thus far? 17-year-old Brazilian pitcher Joseph Contreras’ escape of a bases-loaded jam with Aaron Judge at-bat.
Joseph’s dad? Former Yankees pitcher and White Sox champion José Contreras.
I chatted with José in Brazil’s fan section just now. Who was a better arm at 17?
José: “Him, for sure.”

Alex Bregman is asked about talking shop with Aaron Judge:
"Obviously one of the best players to have played this game. I feel like he's super knowledgeable about the swing, about the game of baseball in general. Definitely not taking this opportunity for granted"

Reed Sheppard thrived in Washington, going for 19 points, 10 assists, 7 boards and 6 steals, while KD, Amen and Sengun scored big in a 123-118 win over the Wizards.
