One of my students, inspired by the science of learning that he learned about in my class, created a chemistry quizzing program for his computer science class using his coding skills and AI tools. What a great use for AI in education! @nsachdeva2019
Ok. Can't resist this chemistry comparison. Scaffolding is a state function (Hess's Law). The pathway may be different - but everyone will get to the same place. @MrsBallAP #rEDTO2025
I really like today's post! learningscientists.org/blog/…
Hey @HPSupport your product is unusable. We've used the chat bot twice and asked for a call back in the evening - but you keep leaving messages during the day. How can we replace this product - it is defective.
Today was our @OSSTFD25TBU PD day. Best PD day of the year. Had so much fun talking about the Science of Learning! Thanks to everyone on the Science Subject for organizing!
Fantastic session on Understanding Attention by @AndrewWatsonTTB. Especially loved the "spiders" analogy for distractions we can't control - had one of the moments this past week :) #LatB66
Listening to Dr. Elizabeth Kensinger talk about memory and forgetting and how it applies to learning. The fact that educators are not taught about this never ceases to amaze me.
Any other #onted peeps attending (virtually) @learningandtheb The Science of Teaching & Learning conference this weekend? So many interesting sessions...good thing it's recorded!

In our latest piece in @ConversationCA, @Prof_Savage and I argue that interest arbitration is a poor substitute for the right to strike. It demobilizes unions and does anti-union governments' work for them #canlab #onted #osstf #etfo #oecta #labourrights

Hey Ottawa peeps, the OSTA parent portal is up and running. After that email, I'm so relieved we have a bus.
🧵OSSTF’s leaders are trading the right to strike for binding interest arbitration. Here's why that's a problem for teachers and the entire labour movement.

NASA's fire map for Canada today. If you're teaching about climate change this year in any course, you might want to grab some screenshots. #onted

I get that making fun of the government gets a few laughs. But cursive writing isn't the joke you think it is. There is evidence that cursive writing improves memory and learning. It also benefits students with dyslexia and dysgraphia. Pick something else please.
Hey #onted law teachers - check this out.
NEW VIDEO: I made a 30 minute video that examines the ongoing bargaining dispute between #CUPE education workers & the Ontario government.
It's called 'Standing Up to the Notwithstanding Clause"

Colleagues, can you please think carefully about the comments/learning skills you enter for your IEP students? Telling them to improve something that is literally the reason for their IEP (disability) is just so demoralizing and just not helpful.
Testing Lunar Rovers this week in #SNC1W. What changes would you make to allow the rover to travel farther and in a straight line?
