Finally my husband is impressed by something other than his crops or how much rain we got.

For the people hating on SpaceX for the imagined crime of Starlink interfering with Ukraine's war, here’s a short list of private companies with significant U.S. DoD contracts for defense/war-related items that also have clear commercial applications outside of military use: Boeing — Major DoD supplier of military aircraft and systems (e.g., F-15 fighters, AH-64 Apache and CH-47 Chinook helicopters, KC-46 tanker based on the commercial 767, P-8 Poseidon based on the 737). It is also one of the world’s largest commercial airliner manufacturers (737, 777, 787, etc.). General Dynamics (Gulfstream Aerospace) — Supplies the DoD and other services with special-mission aircraft derived from its business jets (e.g., C-20 and C-37 VIP/special airlift variants, with recent multi-hundred-million-dollar logistics support contracts). Gulfstream’s primary business is commercial/private business jets. Honeywell — Long-time DoD contractor for navigation systems, radar altimeters, actuators, electronic warfare components, and related parts used on military aircraft, missiles, and munitions. The same or closely related technologies (inertial navigation, avionics, sensors) are widely used in commercial aviation and industrial applications. SpaceX — Holds substantial DoD/Space Force contracts for national-security launches (e.g., under NSSL programs), military satellite communications (Starshield and related networks such as MILNET), and related services. It also operates the commercial Starlink broadband constellation and provides commercial launch services. RTX (Pratt & Whitney / Collins Aerospace) — Supplies military engines (e.g., for fighters) and advanced avionics/systems to the DoD, while Pratt & Whitney and Collins also power and equip large numbers of commercial airliners and business jets.

Julian Assange is back, HeeHaw is dead and Elon is living in an Airstream, but I worry, is this the last tree frog I'll see until next Spring?

I hope to live long enough to see Elon get us to the moon and die before Socialism takes over.

The Pied Walker, created and named by Grok. ChatGpt wouldn't create a cow-human cryptid for my daughter, telling her that it was perverted and went against their policies. Grok did this within minutes after I explained her dilemma. We love cryptids!

I sat up out of bed this morning, coughed, and threw my back out. I've been listing to port all day.

The Voice From the Sky At 18 years old. My sister used to go to a Holy Roller church in Eastport. One night I drove to the church to check out it’s doings. There were people speaking in tongues, people rolling around on the floor and alot of singing and shouting. It was interesting, but did not inspire me. Afterwards I drove home and parked in front of our house. I stood leaning against my car, staring up into the sky. The night was clear and I could see so many stars in the vastness of space. I was mesmerized. After staring for a long time, a voice spoke to me from the sky. The voice was male, loud and stern. It said my name, as if in warning. Stunned, I remained leaning aganst my car, frozen in place for a few seconds. Then I ran into the house and into my bedroom. I dove into the bed and pulled the covers over my head. That’s all I remembered until I woke up the next morning. Over the years thinking about this I’m very disappointed in myself. If I could redo that moment I would answer the voice. I would say “What?” I wonder what would have happened after that. Would I get an answer?

I just noticed, as I walked by my husband watching TV, it's no longer "Call this number, operators are standing by." It's "Scan the image on your screen before this offer expires."

Darn groundhog has burrows under the pool, the shed and the back steps. I'm thinking of charging him a pied-a-terre tax, even though we don't live in NYC.
