The doctors at the center of America’s first federal FGM prosecution have opened a clinic together in Detroit where they offer school physicals for children and accept seven different taxpayer funded insurance providers. Dr. Jumana Nargawala and Dr. Fakhruddin Attar were accused of working together to mutilate the genitals of young girls in Michigan. Dr. Nargwala was the one who actually performed the procedures, while Dr. Attar provided her the space in which to operate. The procedure Dr. Nargwala was accused of performing upon nine little girls involved the amputation of the clitoris and inner labia, followed by the removal of the flesh along the inside of the outer labia. Dr. Nargwala then allegedly sewed these little girls shut, leaving a hole the size of a matchstick for urination and menstruation. The indictment accused Dr. Attar of opening his clinic after hours so that Dr. Nargwala could mutilate the victims, and both physicians were accused of telling victims and their families not to discuss the mutilations. The case against both doctors was dismissed in 2018 after the judge ruled that the federal FGM statute was “unconstitutional.” Neither physician was ever charged in state courts, and Michigan’s Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs chose not to pursue disciplinary action. Both doctors have since been allowed to renew their medical licenses. Neither doctor has ever had their medical license revoked or restricted in any way.

Of course we are 🎉 When given the chance to name a Polar research ship we voted in our thousands for *BoatyMcBoatFace* rather than the, arguably more appropriate, *Sir David Attenborough* Taking the piss is in our DNA. You can’t possibly believe when blokes started calling themselves ‘inspirational women’ because they used to steal their sisters knickers that we’d just sit back and say nothing.

In 1942 Viktor Frankl was sent to a Nazi concentration camp. Before his arrest he was a respected psychiatrist in Vienna with a family and a manuscript that represented years of work. At the camp his head was shaved, his clothes were taken, and he was given the number 119,104. One of the hardest moments came when the Nazis found his manuscript and burned it in front of him. He had been offered a visa to the United States, but his elderly parents could not go with him. He chose to stay. He was moved through several camps, including Auschwitz and Dachau. As a physician he watched the people around him. Physical strength alone did not decide who survived. Some who looked healthy declined quickly. Others who seemed too weak continued. When prisoners lost all hope, they sometimes deteriorated rapidly. Frankl returned again and again to a line from Nietzsche: “He who has a why to live for can bear almost any how.” Although the manuscript was gone, he began reconstructing it in his mind. He pictured himself after the war, standing in front of students and explaining what he had seen. He also thought constantly about his wife, Tilly. He had no way of knowing whether she was alive, but remembering her helped him continue. He tried to give the same sense of purpose to other prisoners. He would ask who was waiting for them outside or what work only they could finish. When the camps were liberated in 1945, Frankl weighed 85 pounds. Then he learned that his wife, parents, and brother were all dead. The family he had stayed for was gone. Within nine days he recreated the manuscript the Nazis had burned. The book became *Man’s Search for Meaning*. Early publishers rejected it. Readers gradually found it. It became one of the most influential books of the twentieth century. Frankl remarried, raised a daughter, climbed mountains, and continued working as a psychiatrist and teacher until his death in 1997. The Nazis had taken his possessions, destroyed his work, and reduced him to a number. They had not taken away his ability to search for meaning. He entered the camps with a career, a family, and a manuscript, and emerged having lost nearly all of them. What he carried forward was the belief that suffering does not have to be the final word.

Nansi Williams - the heroic dinner lady who died saving the lives of schoolchildren during the Aberfan disaster... On October 21, 1966, a Welsh school dinner lady Nansi Williams threw herself over five children as a wall of coal waste crashed into their school. All five survived. She did not. That morning, children at Pantglas Junior School in Aberfan, Wales, were preparing for their final day before the half-term holiday. Nansi, a local woman who worked in the school dining hall, was collecting dinner money from pupils. Above the village stood enormous mountains of waste from the nearby coal mine. For years, residents had lived beneath them, despite concerns about their stability. At approximately 9:15 a.m., one of those mountains collapsed. Around 150,000 tonnes of coal waste and water surged down the hillside, smashing into houses and engulfing the school. Inside, Nansi saw the danger approaching. She ordered five children to get down, then threw herself over them, using her own body as a shield. The impact killed her. One of the children, Karen Thomas, later recalled how Nansi had jumped on top of them as glass shattered and the wall collapsed. The children initially did not understand that she was dead. They tried pulling her hair to wake her. When rescuers recovered Nansi's body, accounts say she was still clutching a pound note collected for school dinners. The Aberfan disaster killed 144 people, including 116 children. An official inquiry later placed responsibility squarely on the National Coal Board. The catastrophe had been preventable. Nansi had no children of her own. In her final moments, she saved five who belonged to other families. For decades, her extraordinary sacrifice received little recognition beyond the community that remembered her. Now, approaching the disaster's 60th anniversary in October 2026, a campaign to honor her has succeeded. A commemorative Purple Plaque is scheduled to be unveiled in Aberfan on October 30. Five children went home because Nansi Williams never did. #archaeohistories

The transformation from Greens to an Islamofascist party is almost complete. Taqiyya.
Wow. The Green Party are now saying it’s “Islamophobic” to question the Qu’ran, to criticise if women are treated poorly under Islam and for Green Party events to be held in a pub. spiked-online.com/2026/10/14…

A long shot...Last Wednesday, I left a small grey hardshell suitcase on a train from London St Pancras to Cambridge between 5-6pm The thing in it I'm most upset about losing is a five-year journal in which I've recorded moments with my daughter (now 7) that have made me laugh or smile, and how she's changed. I like to read them back to her so she knows how precious she is. Nothing has turned up through the train companies' lost property systems yet, and I know that may take a while, but I don't want to leave a stone unturned. Any bright ideas? Know this is a long shot. @TLRailUK @GNRailUK

Many congratulations to @ucl Prof Sallie Baxendale on being shortlisted for the Maddox Prize for standing up for science. 'Baxendale told THE that being shortlisted for the Maddox Prize “isn’t just a personal vindication” given the standing of the prize in the scientific community. “It sends a message that scientific scrutiny is something to be encouraged, rather than feared,” she said. “I sincerely hope this recognition gives others the confidence to speak up, challenge unsupported claims and insist that evidence remains at the heart of decision-making, particularly in the field of gender medicine, but in all areas of medicine, where assumptions and misplaced certainty can have very real consequences for people’s lives.”' timeshighereducation.com/new…

Today, they hanged him. The Islamic Republic executed Ali-Sina Mostafavi, an Iranian mountaineer. Let’s be brutally honest. The Islamic Republic will not stop hanging people because we tweet, share hashtags, or beg for mercy. We Iranians wake up every day knowing that another family may receive a phone call announcing that their loved one has been executed. How many more bodies must hang before world leaders understand that condemnation without consequences is not a policy? The United Nations has documented serious human rights violations, forced confessions, and grossly unfair trials in Iran. This is not a lack of information. It is a lack of political will. Stop treating executions as a routine human rights concern. Treat them as an international emergency. We, the people of Iran, are exhausted from burying our loved ones while the world issues statements. We are not asking you to save us with your sympathy. We are demanding that you stop granting impunity to those who kill us.
He climbed the Himalayas. Now the Islamic Republic wants hang him in Iran for protesting. Ali-Sina Mostafavi, an Iranian mountaineer, has been moved to solitary confinement. His family was called for a final goodbye. World media, athletes: BREAK THE SILENCE. Save his life.

As a former Rector of St Andrews University I respectfully urge its students not to support someone who tries to understate the appalling psychological effects of rape
When I was a student at St Andrews University, the late great Nicholas Parsons was Rector. He was approachable, diligent, and did a proper job; students could contact him, he turned up, and he took the role seriously without turning it into a platform for ideology. Now Q Manivannan is standing for the same position. Before becoming a Green MSP, Manivannan went on a podcast and claimed there is “definitely a demonisation of rape” and that rape is “a spectrum,” with “different modes” of consent and contexts. An apology followed, with claims of selective editing and insistence that all rape is equally serious. Rape crisis centres still called it out for minimising sexual violence. A Rector is meant to be someone female students can trust when they need the student voice amplified on safety and assault. Electing a candidate whose public comments treated rape as a theoretical spectrum sends the opposite message to survivors: your experience can be relativised. Gender-critical students face an extra problem. Manivannan is non-binary and insists on “they/them” pronouns. Putting someone in a position of institutional power who insists on those pronouns forces students who reject gender ideology to either comply or risk being labelled bigoted or simply not to contact their Rector at all. That’s not representation, it’s compelled speech from the person meant to open doors for them. As an MSP representing Edinburgh and Lothians East, Q would also have less time available to his constituents. For someone who is such a proponent of DEI, Q also seems very keen to greedily collect extra senior institutional roles for himself rather than sharing them out with others. Nicholas Parsons showed what the Rector role should look like: friendly, diligent and focused on students. Manivannan’s record raises serious doubts about whether that standard can be met at St Andrews. Students and constituents should take note.

No. Feminism is by and for women. Its aim is women's liberation. The belief that everybody should have equal rights and opportunities is egalitarianism, not feminism. @HJoyceGender got it right when she called this lot "unwomen".

Please retweet to help Frazer and Godfrey find a home together #DONCASTER #UK 😺😺 MEET FRAZER & GODFREY two bonded male cats, both neutered, vaccinated and blood/health tested & treated for fleas and worms. These sweet boys were left behind by a hoarder to fend for themselves in disgusting & dangerous conditions, there were many more cats and dogs which are now safe thanks to the lovely Luis Smith. So these boys now need a loving home where they will be loved and cared for like they deserve and never treated badly again. Frazer is around 2yrs old, he's the Tabby on the left and he's a little shy and wary (not surprising with what he's been through) so he needs Godfrey for confidence. Godfrey is around 5yrs old and he's very friendly and likes a cuddle. They would need a home where they go outside eventually once settled. They would be better in a quieter home without very young children, especially for Frazer as he can be nervous. If you can help these two sweet lads and offer them a loving and safe home then please copy and paste the link below or get in touch via Whatsapp on 07876 405906 👉 Link 🔗 bestlifedogrescue.co.uk/adop… Best Life Dog Rescue is a small, volunteer-run, foster-based rescue in Doncaster. 🏡 Home checks, vet checks, ID checks and small adoption fee applies but it's more important these two get the right home. 🙏🙏🙏 PLEASE SHARE 🙏🙏🙏 Also on facebook if you use it 👇👇👇 facebook.com/BestLifeDogResc… ☎️ 07785 426127 Email [email protected] #Cats #England #pets #adoptdontshop @rickygervais @JaneFallon @scanme_tukslaw @KatieAmess @Jan_Leeming @liamgallagher

Note to broadcast journalists interviewing Zack Polanski; Don’t forget to challenge him on his lies - this is also your job. So when he says 75,000 ‘murdered in Gaza’ point out that figure from Hamas includes terrorists and people who died of natural causes. When he says ‘genocide’ point out this has not been found by any court and is denied. Particularly as the population of Gaza is now higher than it was. When he talks about child amputees point out that officials have strangely not highlighted child amputees in any other war, including wars where more than 10x the number were killed. When he talks about the ‘ongoing genocide’ remind him that Hamas was meant to disarm a year ago and still hasn’t. Don’t let him just come on and spout his lies.

Roi and Guy were 10 months old on 7/10. Their mummy left the safe room of their house in kibbutz Kfar Aza to get her boys milk in the kitchen. She was shot dead by Hamas terrorists. The twins’ dad heard his wife’s murder and tried to keep the safe room door shut to protect the twins. He was murdered. Hamas left the orphanned twins to cry for 14 hours to lure their neighbours to try and rescue them. All those who tried were killed. Roi and Guy were eventually rescued and adopted by their mother’s sister and her husband. The boys are almost four now and are thriving. We remember the parents who loved them, murdered by fanatics.
This picture was taken exactly three years ago. Something inside me broke when I learned this newly orphaned baby is the son of Hadar and Itay Berdichesky from Kibbutz Kfar Azza who got killed while fighting to defend their babies. The twin babies survived and were left alone for many hours until they were rescued by these Israeli medics. I cry every time I see this picture 💔

To those who claimed that no woman in Iran has ever been flogged for refusing to wear the hijab: LOOK AT HER BACK. This woman is one of the brave members of my #WhiteWednesdays campaign against compulsory hijab. She sent me this photo of her scarred back after being punished with 74 lashes for the “crime” of showing her hair. Holding a Woman, Life, Freedom slogan, she refused to be silenced. Here is her testimony: “The morality police arrested me for resisting their van. My ‘crime’ was unveiling. After months of court hearings, I was sentenced to 74 lashes. The cleric overseeing the punishment stood there to ensure it was carried out. I won’t give up my fight against this brutal regime, but we are fed up with living as prisoners in our own homeland.” Seventy-four lashes. For showing her hair. In the 21st century. This is barbarism. And you tell me, how is this different from ISIS?

Three years ago today I wrote: We the people of Iran know very well who is behind this assault. Nothing has changed. The regime that armed Hamas still sends drones to Putin and money to Hezbollah. Terrorists are still united. The question is, are democracies? Do not be silent. Share this for the victims of October 7 and for the Iranian people who have been executed for the crime of fighting against the biggest sponsor of terrorism.
I strongly condemn the terrorist attacks against Israel. Millions of Iranians express their solidarity with the victims and their families. We the people of Iran know very well that, who is behind this assault. Just a few weeks ago, the Hamas leadership visited Ali Khamenei the supreme leader of Islamic Republic in Tehran where Khamenei made a direct threats of destruction against Israel, stating that “Israel is dying”. Today, the world is witnessing that Hamas attacked Israel. The Islamic Republic is doing what they have exactly promised. Terrorism is Iran’s regime’s only solution. The Islamic Revolutionary Guards funds Hamas and Hezbollah to attack Israel, and at the same time IRGC is sending drones to Putin to kill Ukrainians. However the EU always hesitate to support the demands of millions of Iranians in order to put IRGC on the terror list. Terrorists are united. The time has come for democratic countries to be united and take stronger actions against these warmongers alliance. Now it is essential for the EU to designate the IRGC as a terrorist organization and stop the Iranian regime to threaten those seeking normalization with Israel. #IRGCterrorists
