Ready to take on year ten! I met the sweetest group of second graders today 🤍

Nothing worse than realizing you forgot to purchase a bunch of necessities as your unpacking your classroom on day one 🙃

❤️🖤

I’ve been renovating the house I bought last month fully on my own along with packing, moving things over, and unpacking. Renovations are just about complete, but packing and moving is no where close to being done. I’ve worked harder this summer than I have any school year (physically). I am TIRED! So much for a summer reset! But it will all be worth it in the end 🤣 I am hopeful to be completely finished with moving by the end of next weekend, which will give me two weeks to work in my classroom and focus on preparing for the new school year before we are officially back. This has been the fastest summer of my life!

I wasn’t going to speak on any drama this summer, and I know my words may not matter, but I cannot sit behind the scenes and continue to watch what is unfolding. What has come of the CTL movement this summer is so disheartening. Last year was a whirlwind, and I know I definitely played a role, but this year it feels much more targeted. The best choice I ever made was to keep my list private and self fund my classroom needs. I have been beyond blessed with items for my classroom in years past, and I will forever be grateful for all the blessings this movement has brought. But the peace and lack of stress this summer has been so rewarding as well - in a different way! I have made some strong connections throughout the years, and I still keep in contact with most of those connections daily. To me, that is what matters most. My heart is with all those dealing with the stress this summer has brought. Just remember you are more than both a full or a clear list, and at the end of the day your integrity is everything 🤍

Anyone who knows me knows I’m a LeBron die hard and apologist. He brought CLE our championship and that game + the parade were experiences I’ll never forget. But.. ALL THAT FOR PHILLY???????

Good morning and happy fourth! 🙃

There is nothing worse than the stomach flu in the middle of summer! Two days later I finally feel human again! Slept all day yesterday, time to finish packing so we can officially move in on Monday!

A day before we close on our new house: I have so much to do, and I have the stomach flu 🙃 lovely!!

Mind you, had I not chosen to teach summer school, I’d be two weeks ahead of the game. Instead, I have 4 weeks before I head back to school for next year to pack, deep clean the new house, do minor painting, updates and repairs, move in, unpack, then deep clean my dad’s house we’ve been staying in so he can put it on the market. Why I do this to myself I’ll never understand 🙃

✅ Sick toddler ✅ Less than a week from closing on our new house and have absolutely nothing packed ✅ Running on collectively 7 hours of sleep between last night and the night before There is no amount of coffee in the world that will get me through this next week 🤣
