I wrote Part 2 in a series of articles describing how to leverage a #CLIPS #RulesEngine from within a #Ruby program!
ryjo.codes/articles/write-a-…
This one focuses on asserting Ruby values into a CLIPS environment. #programming #coding
I wrote a shell script that can talk to #ChatGPT! ryjo.codes/articles/a-shell-…
By default, if you don't pass it a prompt, it'll ask ChatGPT to provide a Usage message for the script itself. #coding #programming
I wrote another article! This one goes into writing a C extension for Ruby. For what? To use CLIPS from Ruby, of course! ryjo.codes/articles/write-a-… #coding #programming #ruby #c
I posted a #gist detailing how I used @emscripten to compile #CLIPS to #WASM for my Tour of CLIPS (ryjo.codes/tour-of-clips.htm…)! Check it out:

I really enjoy how easy @golang makes concurrent programming. It's also super easy to use CGo to talk to native C libraries. I've written several really cool projects with it, including several integrations with #CLIPS. Please make the upcoming #telemetry functionality opt-in! <3
I wrote an article describing the A* #Algorithm, including an implementation in #CLIPS (of course)!

I recently wrote an article describing how to implement a TCP server using @golang and CLIPS. Check it out if rules-based programming interests you: ryjo.codes/articles/a-simple… #programming #coding #rulesengine

Early stages of Google Docs support in the Ladybird browser! 🤓🐞🌍
Big props to @Lubrsi who fixed a laundry list of compatibility issues and got the site loading yesterday! 🌠
ryjo.codes/articles/stop-wri… More #CLIPS writing. This time, I discuss caching mechanisms inherent in the Rete Algorithm. #algorithm #programming #cache
I made a CLIPS tutorial modeled after Go's Tour of Go! Take a look: ryjo.codes/tour-of-clips.htm… It uses #WASM to run #CLIPS in your browser. #rulesengines #expertsystems #tutorial #programming
What started as a (spectacularly failed) #coding #interview is turning into a really fun learning experience! I'm expanding gist.github.com/mrryanjohnst… (which I implemented in #CLIPS, of course) into a full-blown "Expert System." Fun! #videogames #programming
Q: "Why is a Zoo-tycoon rip-off considered a system for experts?"
A: If you're a #programmer, the way an Expert System works may be slightly different than what you're used to. Expert Systems are implemented with Rules Engines, #software that executes "Rules" based on "Facts." 1
continued... As it turns out, the execution of a "Rules Engine" is quite analogous to using a "loop" in #VideoGame development.
I've been obsessed with CLIPs (clipsrules.sourceforge.net/). It's really easy to implement your own functions. Here I use `libcurl` to GET my website. Check out the gist (including how you can get his working on your system) here: gist.github.com/mrryanjohnst… #programming #rulesengines

awk is such a small language that it's hard to do anything in it except get your work done. No classes, no monads, no frameworks. Just a convenient language for munging text files.

Fantasy football commissioners: @zkwentz and I are working on an app that helps you run the best league for your players. We’re looking for feedback on some beta features. Shoot me a DM!
RTs appreciated 🏈
I wrote a @rails app that consumes data from two other #rubyonrails Applications via #GRPC. Article to follow. Check it out: github.com/mrryanjohnston/gr… #programming
I wrote an article about creating CI/CD pipelines in @awscloud using #bash & aws-cli: ryjo.codes/articles/creating… it’s a long one, but I’m pretty proud of it. Enjoy! #devops #bluegreen #rubyonrails #ubuntu
