15 years ago. My boys were there. I couldn’t make it cos I was working in Glasgow. Watched it in Tennents bar in the Byres road. Knocked a guy’s pint over when I jumped up. He took it well.
I’m in Australia so it’s the night after last’s night’s broadcast for me (is that right?) but the sentiment still holds. And it’s still on iPlayer where the concept of ‘last night’s broadcast’ is a mirage, so fill yer boots.
Following last night's broadcast, I would like to thank the great Scottish public for watching The Chief. It has been both an honour and a pleasure to enter your living rooms over the last few weeks without the need for a court order or arrest warrant!

Thursday. Traditionally, it's the day our stations around the country prepare for the weekend influx of drunken idiots. Unfluff the pillows. Flatten the mattresses. Turn off the heating.
But now Thursdays are THE CHIEF days. 10pm BBC Scotland.

In the unlikely event I have any Australian followers can I draw your attention to these two festivals, Adelaide and Melbourne, that I’ll be appearing at. Or if anyone would like to fly over from Britain to join me you’d be more than welcome.
Out today. Thanks to everyone who worked on this. It was a blast. Let me know what you think. (Fulsome praise only).
Who am I to argue with The Chief?
This looks like a must watch!

St Martin’s Lane cinema. 1986. I went to see Blue Velvet with Morwenna Banks. As it panned from the red flowers and picket fence to the waving fireman we turned to each other, both already grinning, knowing we were safe in the hands of a master. RIP David Lynch. A proper genius.
