This isn’t a glitch. These are Republican policies working exactly as intended: the wealthiest are paying less while everyone else is paying more.

For those of you not from DC - this means runners, bicyclists, families, sightseers would all be displaced from Hains Point - so that a high-end golf course could be built minutes from the U.S. Capitol and White House.
Trump releases his plan to re-do the East Potomac Park golf course in DC. His graphic does not show the current road which runs around Hains Point, or the picnic and memorial areas at the end. Getting rid of those public areas would be terrible.

Casual public Islamophobia from a CBS News correspondent, an awful look for the network which their new management probably doesn’t care about

Yup. We're not out of the woods on Graham tariffs. Trump kept the tariff provisions legally on the table as something he can use to tariff, e.g. India or Europe, post-midterms.... (It was clear from the beginning there would be no actual Russia *sanctions*, so 0 surprise there)
On the tariff side of the Graham Act worth noting that Trump admin seems to have announced the tariffs allowed at maximum levels but waived them.(500% for Russia 100% for buyers/facilitators) but waived them. Suggests could come in future for other reasons whitehouse.gov/presidential-…

It was clear when Congress passed the Graham Russia Act that Trump would not actually sanction Russia, so no surprise that he waived all the sanctions last night. Next up: Will he use it to tariff US allies? He didn't last night, but tariffs remain on the table post-midterms...

Trump’s reckless war on Iran drove diesel prices above $6 a gallon, and energy experts agree his Russia diesel deal won’t make a dent. What it really does is fund Putin’s war and undercut our allies. Zelensky is exactly right: Trump keeps giving Putin what he wants and getting nothing back. Americans aren’t getting relief, and Ukraine is getting left out in the cold. ft.com/video/ca7652de-937e-4…

This is the result of 7+ years of Trump's attacks on @Ilhan, Somali-Americans, & the Muslim community.   Everyone, regardless of party, must speak out against this fascistic abuse of power.   If they can do this to a sitting Congresswoman, they can & will do it to anyone.
BREAKING WSJ: The Trump admin's investigation into Rep. Ilhan Omar is aimed at building a case to strip her of her U.S. citizenship and ultimately deport her, according to U.S. officials and other people familiar with the probe. wsj.com/politics/policy/ilha…

“The idea that Mark Zuckerberg was sitting in his Harvard dorm room and would have been deterred from starting Meta if the capital gains tax rate was slightly closer to the ordinary income tax rate strikes me as categorically absurd,” argues @NatashaRSarin, professor of law at Yale Law School.

In 2022, my name was on the first law banning Russian fossil fuel imports to deny Putin funding for his brutal invasion of Ukraine. Now, Trump is directly violating that law by removing sanctions to permit the first Russian diesel imports into the US since 2022, when this law went into effect, without satisfying the specific legal conditions for doing so. He illegally rewards his pal Putin while at the same time once again blaming Zelensky for not capitulating to Putin. Meanwhile, every day Putin murders more Ukrainian civilians. congress.gov/bill/117th-cong…

Instead of using the new sanctions Congress authorized against Putin, Trump is sanctioning the International Criminal Court, which seeks Putin’s arrest for abducting Ukrainian children. Trump’s effort “to cripple” the Court is another major assault on the rule of law and protection of human rights. Good to see our allies defending the Court and not yielding to our bully-in-chief. reuters.com/world/us-imposes…

A tax cheat in the White House is gutting the agency that catches tax cheats. Republicans spent a decade starving the IRS. To reverse these cuts, I strongly supported a ten-year plan to restore funding for high-end tax enforcement at the IRS, but Republicans killed it in under three. Now Trump and DOGE have driven out more than a quarter of the IRS's remaining auditors and collectors. subscriber.politicopro.com/a…
