Oh wow so we can now see prices on Google maps! How the fuck is that supposed to be helpful? Get it for 1p cheaper down the road. 🤦🏼♂️
I know people are worried about fuel prices. And I get it. You get to the pump, watch the numbers climb, and wonder why it's costing so much more than it used to.
The reality is that global events are pushing up costs, and families here at home are feeling the impact.
But I won't accept that there's nothing I can do to help.
That's why from today, you'll be able to see petrol and diesel prices on Google Maps, compare nearby stations and find the cheapest option before you fill up.
It's a small change, but if there's a practical way to help people keep more money in their pocket, I'll do it.

Paul Allen said Bill Gates tried to cut his Microsoft stake to almost nothing while he was fighting cancer.
Allen kept the shares.
They later made him worth $40 billion.
In the video below, Allen explains what he heard while walking past Gates’s office during radiation therapy.
“They were basically talking about how they were planning to dilute my share down to almost nothing.”
Steve Ballmer was in the room. Allen walked in and confronted them.
Ballmer came to his house later that night to apologize. Gates did not.
Allen left Microsoft shortly after, but he kept all of his shares.
He was 30, cancer-free, and still owned nearly a third of the company. When Microsoft went public, that stake made him one of the richest people on Earth.
At one point, Allen was worth an estimated $40 billion.

The Godfather of IRL streaming turns 32 years old today.
In 2016, at the age of 21, Ice Poseidon created modern day IRL streaming. This was via his Pokemon Go stream; using the mobile game as a loophole to stream in real life. On Twitch, non-gaming streams would result in a ban at the time.
The setup he used:
- Chat open on iPad
- Phone to play Pokemon Go
- Webcam connected to laptop
- Laptop kept open with a paper
- Headset to talk into microphone and hear donations

When Britain needed a solution for ship repairs in the Atlantic, engineers in the 1860s built the largest floating dry dock ever attempted, a 380-foot iron structure weighing over 8,000 tons.
Constructed near Woolwich on the Thames, the dock was designed to lift 10,000-ton ironclads like HMS Warrior and withstand the fouling threats of Bermuda’s warm waters.
Unable to build a conventional dry dock due to porous sandstone, the British opted for mobility and scale, creating a self-contained U-shaped platform that could sink and raise vessels from the sea with ballast compartments and powerful pumps.
In June 1869, this massive dock embarked on a nearly 4000 nautical-mile journey to Bermuda, towed in stages by Britain’s heaviest ironclads—Agincourt, Northumberland, Warrior, and Black Prince—assisted by HMS Terrible.
With closed ends to reduce drag and a sail rigged inside to capture tailwinds, the voyage reached speeds of over 6 knots.
Once in service, it supported Royal Navy operations for over thirty years before being replaced in 1906.

A father of two children has been jailed after throwing a plastic bottle at the police and swearing at officers during the illegal migrant protest in Portsmouth.
Sentenced to a two year prison sentence.
The judge said it would act 'as a deterrent'
Now, let me be abundantly clear.
I do not believe that any violence against the police is acceptable.
I also do not believe that a two year prison sentence is appropriate, particularly when we are allowing paedophiles and rapists to roam our streets because of a supposed lack of prison capacity.
The BBC reports the man 'said he had found the bottle on the ground and was going to throw it into a nearby bush, but was angry and so threw it up into the air.'
Reportedly, he told the officers to 'f*** off' and 'pointed aggressively' at them (ITV).
I can understand the anger, to be honest. This was happening as illegal migrants were being ferried into his town.
This sentence is unfair, unjust and morally wrong.
Let's be honest about what has happened here.
The establishment is making an example of this man to deter others from protesting.
A two year sentence is absolutely outrageous - there are far better ways for him to make right the wrong.
The third world invaders are greeted to luxury accommodation as heroes, yet this man will rot in prison.
It's not right.

I wonder if there has ever been a court case before in Britain's history where a bloke has been convicted of a criminal offence because he damaged a vessel at sea, that had been used as part of an invasion of Britain in an effort to prevent that invasion?
