I was talking about Marianne Faithfull with my wife just a couple of days ago. Bill Dees, who was touring with Roy Orbison when this photo was taken, told me, "She was unfathomably, indescribably beautiful". Rest in peace.

Kinky Friedman stepped on a rainbow at his beloved Echo Hill surrounded by family & friends. Kinkster endured tremendous pain & unthinkable loss in recent years but he never lost his fighting spirit and quick wit. Kinky will live on as his books are read and his songs are sung.

For me, the most fascinating character in the history of any music genre is #RogerMiller (so much I dedicated years of work writing a book about him). He passed away on this day in 1992. I hope someday soon the powers that be release the ton of unreleased material that exists.

Despite not being old enough to see E in concert, I was a young fan of his and am grateful I was on the planet at the same time he was, even more so, during the greatest #Elvis years: 1971-1977 #WayDown

I was hanging out with Bill and Larry Henley once and I asked Larry what he thought about Rawls’ version of Wind Beneath My Wings. Story was: Lou invited Larry to the studio to hear it and Larry hated it so much he physically attacked the engineer. I think Lou did it best btw

Today is Bandcamp Friday which means, that their normal cut is waived so more $ to the musician. It's a good day to support your favorite artists whoever they are. I have two fresh new songs being released as well, would love it if you'd take a listen: jackpribek.bandcamp.com/albu…
