iShowSpeed Did Not Use @Starlink in Namibia The Namibia Toursim Board (@Tourism_Board) confirmed to Eagle Media House that internet streamer Darren Watkins Jr, popularly known as iShowSpeed, did not use any Starlink equipment to livestream in Namibia, where he ended his historic 28-country Africa tour. NTB was one of several local entities that coordinated Watkins Jr’s time in Namibia. NTB Corporate Communications Manager, Flora Quest, explained that the streamer and his team used a number of @MTCNamibia eSIMs to connect to the internet because “CRAN does not allow Starlink use in Namibia.” The clarification from NTB alleviates the concerns that the public had in regards to the internet sensation’s use of Starlink. Watkins Jr could be seen using Starlink in several African countries on his tour, including South Africa, where Starlink use is yet to be legalised. Watkins Jr’s main camera man, Samuel ‘Slipz’ Iles explained in a post on X that they were able to use Starlink in South Africa because “IShowspeed’s Starlink entered South Africa on a carnet. A documented import-export.”
