I'd blame the fact that the defense has lived on the field for why they can't get off of it but it's much deeper than that. The pass coverage is absolutely awful. We're just willingly giving up everything underneath without a defender within 5 yards of a receiver. Pathetic.

Students from NC A&T (the largest HBCU) marching back from going to vote. The county closed the polling place on campus. Students marched to town to vote anyway. A&T is where @RevJJackson went to school. His legacy lives on. linkedin.com/posts/todd-simm…

I remember all the pearl clutching when Democrats accused Republicans of using their new control of the Board of Elections for partisan gain.
Shockingly, that’s exactly what they’ve been doing.
NEW: North Carolina State Auditor Dave Boliek’s staff sent texts vowing to “shove" a new "early voting plan down their throats” and to “tell the Democrats where to go stick it.”
They are supposed to be nonpartisan officials who help administer elections.

Hey, Stephen A. Smith:
Lane Johnson's mom has cancer. His dad is also sick. I read your book and you talked about how difficult your life got when your mom got sick and after she passed, you had to go to therapy because you were depressed and you took time off of work.
Your mocking Lane Johnson's mental health struggles when you've been open about your own mental health struggles?
Come on, man. I know you're busy, but do some research before going on TV @stephenasmith

Just through November, huh?
Not exactly subtle.
Bill draft shows gas tax would be suspended through the end of November. Language may have some minor tweaks to come. #ncpol

Talk about projection. This is a guy who starts with the idea of what outcome he wants, and then works back, including complete distortion of the law and the constitution to jam through the hole to fit what he wants to justify. He may be the most dishonest justice in the history of the country.

it *was* farmers asking for solar farms so they could keep their land. Anyone who thinks a small farmer can make it these days without doing something extra with their property doesn’t know a damn thing about agriculture. Which sounds about right coming from you!

There are a lot of people who truly and sincerely believe the (heavily disputed) claim from @whatleync that former Governor Cooper was somehow involved in releasing thousands of violent criminals into the public.
So you might ask: if really were true, wouldn't Republicans in the state legislature - who loathe Cooper - be chomping at the bit to uncover The Truth and make it all public?
Probably. And yet, the special committee Republican leaders formed to investigate and "hold accountable" former Governor Cooper over the 2021 prison settlement has done... nothing.
In July, the committee co-chair, Republican Majority Leader @brendenjonesnc - hardly a Cooper fan - scheduled and then quickly canceled a meeting with the leaders of the Department of Adult Corrections. But besides that, the committee has not even met once.
Why? Because if the committee met and heard evidence, it would publicly vindicate Roy Cooper and demolish the Whatley campaign's central claim.
Every credible news outlet in North Carolina has unanimously rejected the claim as absurd. It's pure fiction. Of course, political campaigns are allowed to peddle fiction, and lying in politics is hardly new.
But because it's fiction, having a legislative committee publicly investigating the claim would be very unhelpful to Whatley's campaign - so they've put it on ice.

That feeling when your script is wrong but you don’t know how to adjust.
Graham: Do you really believe Lindsey was going to destroy evidence that was not even in his possession?
Smith: I believe your brother was a patriotic public servant. He was not a target of our investigation. In fact, he likely would have been a witness in our case. Your brother investigated the claims that Donald Trump was making. He found them to be false.
Graham: I think you were just trying to bully my brother. You should be ashamed of yourself. Shame on you!

@WhatleyNC - you were appointed Hurricane Czar by @realDonaldTrump. I was there! You have failed! I was NC11 GOP chair & you didn’t even call to check on safety of the GOP leaders here! No $! No help to GOTV! Nothing! Except your 1 yr anniversary fundraiser!
@The_Cory
Roy Cooper was such a failure at hurricane recovery that his protégé Josh Stein dismantled Cooper’s entire disaster recovery program during his first week in office.
Not only did Cooper fail WNC during Hurricane Helene, he failed Eastern North Carolina during hurricanes Florence and Matthew.
Roy Cooper is a disgrace.
