Selbst verursachter Niedergang. Billionen für Klima/Migration/Sozialstaat - zulasten der produktiven Basis. Es ist so traurig.
WTF happened to the industrial powerhouse? Every neighbor except tiny Luxembourg beat Germany over 10 years. Even France, with all its strikes and riots.

In 1978, 18 starving Chinese farmers signed a contract they thought could get them executed. The next harvest was bigger than the previous 5 years combined. 🧵

"Wirtschaftswachstum" made in Germany

Beauty and the Sublime – The Two Faces of Truth. Beauty is the signal that something is right. The wing is beautiful because it fits the air. The violin fits the hand and the ear. Beauty is form that has found its purpose. Beauty is proportion. The columns of the Parthenon lean slightly inward, so that to the eye they stand perfectly straight. The Greeks bent the stone so the eye would see it true. Beauty serves life. We call something beautiful when it serves life. The Little Prince says the desert is beautiful because somewhere it hides a well. Exactly. Look at what we find beautiful in a landscape: a road that leads somewhere, water, a hill to shelter behind, a tree for shade – and best of all, a fertile valley that can feed us. Our oldest sense of beauty is a map of survival. The next layer is competence. We admire what took rare skill and real work to make: the violin, the hull, the slightly bent columns of the Parthenon. Skill is what sustains life and passes it on – and beauty is what pulls us toward it. A beautiful city is one where life is visibly good: the trace of a culture’s competence and wealth. What makes a house beautiful, the Prince says, is invisible. Yes. A beautiful house is one where many children could be raised well, built by capable hands, owned by someone who gathered real resources and used them well. Beauty tracks what we cannot see directly – usefulness to life, hidden behind the form. Darwin admitted the peacock’s tail made him sick: it seemed useless. Then he understood. Beauty is how life chooses life. Beauty is quality made visible. Almost everyone recognizes it – which is why those who cannot make it insist it does not exist. The sublime is something else. The sublime is the storm over the sea, the mountain at dawn, the night sky without a single city light. It does not please you. It overwhelms you. The sublime is the right kind of smallness. It makes you feel tiny – and somehow larger at the same time. Burke saw the difference in 1757: beauty we love, the sublime we fear and admire at once. Beauty is the right size for us. The sublime is too big for us. Beauty we can make. The sublime we can only face. The realm of the genius. Now scale it up. A great civilization joins the two. The cathedral is beauty in every carved detail and the sublime in its height: you walk in, you feel small, and you are lifted. The Sistine ceiling. Bach’s Mass in B minor. A rocket rising on a column of fire – and, lately, coming back down to be caught by its tower. There is also a counterfeit. Totalitarian power loves scale too: the giant rally, the monumental tower. Warsaw knows it well – Stalin’s "gift," the Palace of Culture. The true sublime humbles you before something greater than all of us – and then inspires you to reach it. The fake one humbles you before the state – and then crushes you. And our age has lost both. We built estates without beauty and cities without stars – most children in Western cities have never seen the Milky Way. Ugliness became a policy, and the night sky turned orange. That is not an accident. A man who has stood under the stars is hard to impress with a regulation. A people that sees beauty every day will not accept ugliness quietly. Beauty and the sublime are dangerous to managers. They remind people that there is something better, and something bigger, than the system. The two are not decorations. They are the two faces of truth. Beauty is truth you can see. The sublime is truth too big to see all at once. Make it beautiful. Look up.
Life and Truth – They Are the Same Thing. Life is a bet on reality. Every living thing is a guess about the world – and the world checks the guess every single day. The eye is truth about light. The wing is truth about air. The fin is truth about water. A mother’s instinct is truth about what matters most. Every creature alive today descends from ancestors who got something right. The gazelle that misjudged the lion left no descendants. Reality does not negotiate. A body is a library of right answers, written over the ages and passed on. That is what life is: truth that survives by being handed down. So truth is not a moral ornament we add to life once we can afford it. It is what life is made of. And a lie is not just wrong. It is anti-life. It hands someone a false map of the ground they must walk on. Every lie makes it harder for someone to make the decision that serves life. Now scale it up. Human beings added a second inheritance: culture. Knowledge passed on not in the body, but in words, books, customs and institutions – far faster than any gene. Civilization is life learning together. Western civilization built the most powerful truth-machines in history. Science, where the experiment decides. Markets, where prices tell what is scarce and what is wanted. Courts, where evidence decides guilt. Free speech, where anyone can point at the error. The family, where parents live with the results. Common sense, where the lessons of the dead are kept. And look at what they produced: more life. Medicine. Abundance. The longest lives in human history. Truth, turned into years. Systems built on lies produced the opposite. The plan reported record harvests while the villages starved. The lie did not stay on paper. It killed – by the millions. Today the lie is softer, and it aims at the beginning of life itself. Tell the young that children are a burden, the future doomed, the planet better off without them – and they believe it. The cradles empty. When truth goes, life follows. But life does not only survive. It reaches. From cells to minds. From caves to cathedrals. The first eye was truth about light; the telescope is the same truth, taken further. Our part in it fits in three verbs: receive, improve, pass on. Get it right. Pass it on.
