George Monbiot made the same point extremely well on BBC question time programme tonight. Superb. # wales extractive economy infrastructure routes. #bbcqt

Remember reading a nice Monbiot piece about how Wales' colonial past as an extractive economy was still written in its transport routes. Everything east towards London. England same except tilted 90° for same effect.

#DesertIslandDiscs Aria from La Wally memorably features in the film Diva. Programme played the extract from the soundtrack. Sung by Wilhelmenia Wiggins Fernandez, who starred in the film too.

A post about fence posts. Lyric’s production of August Wilson's Pulitzer prize winning family drama totally nails it. “Fences” is about the barriers built by racism, sexism & poverty. Is the complex patriarch Troy building a fence to keep the world out, or trap his family within?

#broadcastinghouse Speeding on all categories of road is as bad as ever, so many drivers accelerate up to junctions and roundabouts only to have to brake hard. People could save a lot of fuel if they drove defensively. # broadcasting house # fuel petrol price
