Are you struggling with joy?
“Rejoice that your names are written down in heaven.” (Luke 10:19)
Recall your salvation & rejoice in your hope.
Remember & rejoice in the price paid for you.
Remind yourself of a greater day coming & rejoice!

We each have ideas about what neighbors are to be like. The question for us to consider is, “what kind of neighbors are we, as followers of Jesus?”
Let’s talk about it tomorrow @mpbclife.
We’d love to see you!

As sinners, we could never “do” enough to be holy enough to enter into the presence of holy God.
Entrance into heaven is not about what you do, but what has already been done through Jesus.
We’re saved by grace through faith in Him.

When it comes to loving others, too many can talk a good talk, but there is no walk to match it.
The disciple who truly loves the Lord, will have a love for others as well.

“I got this” drips with pride and utter dependence on self instead of the Lord.
Be warned:
“Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.” (Prov 16:18)
Depend on Jesus.
He is willing and able to help you.

The enemy wants you in bondage & to keep you there. You are no match for temptation, sin & the devil, but there is One who is greater. His name is Jesus & He sets you free!
Cry out to Him today.

As you serve the Lord in the church & as the church in the world, you can’t do it in your own power.
However, you can in His power!
Serve the Lord empowered by the Holy Spirit, trusting & depending on Him.

How long does it take for us to take our eyes off Jesus & try to do it all in our own power?
How long before our hearts drift from trusting Jesus to thinking “I got this?”
Our natural tendency is to drift toward trusting in ourselves.
We must be intentional to depend on Him.

Have you ever had that project ahead of you & you thought, “I got this?” Then you stepped into it & you realized you didn’t!
That reality is true about life. “You don’t got this,” but there is Someone greater who does.
Let’s talk about it tomorrow @mpbclife.
We’d love to see you.

When life changes, Jesus doesn’t.
When circumstances change, Jesus doesn’t.
When our strength fails, Jesus doesn’t.
When the world changes, Jesus doesn’t.
There is hope in the One who is the same yesterday, today and forever.

Jesus sets us free!
In Him is real freedom forever.
He frees us from sin’s penalty & its power. And one day He will free us from sin’s presence.
You must simply trust Him by faith.
Do it today.

Jesus is holy, holy, holy.
In Him we have our being
& to Him we will give an account.
He is also gracious & merciful
& He came to rescue and redeem.
In Him alone is life & hope
as He alone saves.

Jesus is more than the man upstairs.
He’s more than a good teacher.
He is the Son of God.
And you can trust Him with your life and every part of it.

What would happen if we got a glimpse of the glory of God?
That’s what happened with those disciples at Jesus’ transfiguration.
Let’s talk about it tomorrow @mpbclife.
We’d love to see you.

The cure for darkness is light.
The Light of the world is Jesus.
As His disciple, the life you must live is this:
Live like Him, “meeting people where they are & pointing them to Him.”
Remember who He is & who you are.
Be fully resolved to follow Jesus today & everyday.
Mount Pleasant Baptist Church retweeted
In a world where darkness is closing in, there is joy in Jesus.
In Him, you have confidence in His Power.
In Him, you have confidence in His Presence.
In Him, you have confidence in His Promises.

Because of the cross and the empty tomb, we have the assurance that Jesus IS who He says He is.
He is the Son of God and Son of Man.
He is the way, the truth and the life.
He is the Resurrection and the Life.
Trust Him by faith and be fully resolved to follow Him.
Mount Pleasant Baptist Church retweeted
Who do you say Jesus is?
What you believe affects your life… now and forever.
He is not a hobby to be dabbled with.
He is the Lord and Savior to be surrendered to and followed.

I am looking forward to being back in the pulpit tomorrow @mpbclife after a wonderful, renewing sabbatical.
We will pick up where we left off in Luke as we look at Luke 9:18-27.
I cannot wait!
We’d love to see you.

How wonderful and joyful it is when you get to spend time with a dear friend from times past. We will have that joy @mpbclife tomorrow as Steve Bradshaw will be with us, bringing the morning message.
We’d love to see you (and I can’t wait to see you all!)
